John Kerry’s family in legal battle to keep walls around lavish French villa, concerned about terrorism

The latest news out of France suggests that open borders advocate John Kerry, a longtime Democrat politician who served as secretary of state from 2013 to 2017, believes using walls to protect people from potential harm is only acceptable when those walls are erected around properties he owns.

Properties like the lavish home Kerry’s family owns in Saint-Briac-sur-Mer, an upscale beach resort and commune in northwestern France built for the veritable one percent.

According to an Agence France-Presse report, 90 years ago the grandfather of Kerry and his first cousin Brice Lalonde purchased the Essarts castle in Saint-Briac. It has remained in their family ever since but was reportedly rebuilt as a villa after Nazi soldiers destroyed it during World War II.

Now fast-forward to the present. AFP notes that Kerry himself “has regularly spent time at the estate, most recently joining his relatives to celebrate its 90th year in the family last July.”

Why is this relevant? Because the longtime Democrat politician’s family has been fighting beach-loving hikers over a previously unenforced 1976 law that mandates the public be granted a three-meter right-of-way along every beach, including the beach that runs alongside Saint-Briac.

But for a right-of-way path to be built alongside the commune, the various homes’ property walls would need to be torn down, Kerry’s first cousin complained to AFP.

“The path will impact the well-being of residents by knocking down their walls and ruining their privacy,” he said, adding that he’s also concerned about “terrorist risks.”

Terrorists are known to take advantage of a lack of walls.

Because of the refusal by Kerry’s family to sacrifice their walls for the greater good, a legal battle has erupted.

“The head of the regional hikers association states that all of the cities and villages in the region are complying with the right-of-way law except for Saint-Briac,” PJ Media reported, citing quotes from the French daily morning newspaper Le Figaro.

“That appears to be coming to an end. … A prefectural decree enforcing the law was passed in 2015, but was immediately challenged by the villa owners. The state is moving ahead with creating the right-of-way path while an appeal continues.”

An appeal filed by Kerry’s family and their friends in the commune, of course.

The hypocrisy is simply astounding, according to social media:

“Laws must be followed… and anybody who doesn’t follow them is a thug,” Patrice Petitjean, a former prosecutor who heads the regional ACR 35 hiking association, said to AFP.

Most conservatives agree, ergo why they support President Donald Trump’s mission to construct a border wall along the U.S. southern border. The facts show it’d reduce illegal immigration. And according to Sen. Lindsey Graham, it’d also help thwart terrorism.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’RE MISSING …

“When it comes to radical Islam, a border wall is our last line of defense — not our first,” he tweeted Thursday. “Our first line of defense is a forward deployed presence working with partners to disrupt enemy operations directed at our allies and homeland.”

While these points sound eerily similar to those posited by Kerry’s wealthy first cousin, for some reason conservatives are maligned as racists, bigots, idiots and “deplorables” whenever they make them.

Yet when Kerry’s family fights for their walls, there’s nothing but silence from the left. The same double standard appears to also apply to former President Barack Obama’s walls and failed Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s walls. There  walls are no problem.

But the wall conservatives seek to protect their sovereign  nation — that for some reason is a really big problem, according to Democrats like Kerry, Obama and Clinton, ironically enough.
