CNN allowed a 15-year-old liberal activist to lecture its audience of grown adults about climate change, blame them for the planet’s allegedly impending doom and suggest to her fellow teen peers that they need to get angry and direct that anger at their elders.
“My message to the people in general is that we have to understand the emergency of this situation, and we need to realize that our political leaders have failed us, and then we must make our voices heard and to say — to put pressure on the people in power and say to them that we are not going to allow this to continue anymore,” activist Greta Thunberg said in an interview last weekend.
A 15-year-old student from Sweden, Thunberg spoke with CNN host Fareed Zakaria on Sunday about her unsubstantiated belief that Earth faces imminent doom from climate change.
According to her, it rests on young people like herself to “hold the older generations accountable” for essentially ruining the world and dooming her generation to death:
“And we young people need to say that we must hold the older generations accountable for the mess they have created and expects us to live with and say to them that you cannot continue risking our future like this. And so we need to get angry and then we need to transform that anger into action.”
Listen:
Social media users did not react kindly to her insinuations. Some equated her attitude with that of Mao’s Red Guards, while others pointed out some of the more pressing problems facing society.
Look:
Ahhh, the new Red Guards.

Sooo what kind of climate do they want? Warmer? Cooler? The earth has been both with no help from man….

Yea let’s round up all the old people and put them in camps to concentrate on the fabricated existential threat of climate change.
Just harness the power of dying geriatrics to charge our iPhones.

99.99% of the “solutions” require the destruction of liberties, are essentially genocidal, and technologically still born. But yeah, the problem is rich people…?

Thunberg first turned up in the public spotlight when she delivered s speech at a U.N. climate change summit earlier this month in which she accused the world’s adults of being immature.
“You are not mature enough to tell it like is,” she said. “Even that burden you leave to us children. But I don’t care about being popular. I care about climate justice and the living planet.”
“Our civilization is being sacrificed for the opportunity of a very small number of people to continue making enormous amounts of money. Our biosphere is being sacrificed so that rich people in countries like mine can live in luxury. It is the sufferings of the many which pay for the luxuries of the few.”
Listen:
Everything she said was a Democrat talking point not based on actual facts but rather on the left’s emotional, Marxist worldview. Despite her protestations, the fact remains that the capitalist system she and her peers resent has capitulated millions of people out of poverty.
“Filth, hunger, short life expectancy, illiteracy, subjugation of women, sanguinary conflicts over scarce resources — these horrors are not the recent consequences of climate change,” George Mason University economics professor Donald Boudreaux noted in a blog post back in 2015.
“They are the ages-old consequences of persistent and widespread poverty. This poverty and its accompanying miseries were eliminated only when and only where people embraced the very economic system that so many of today’s environmentalists wish either to abolish outright or to jeopardize with unprecedented government-fashioned fetters: entrepreneurial capitalism.””
It’s likewise the innovations spurred by the capitalist system practiced by the world’s top countries that’s led to a cleaner environment. It’s why, for instance, though President Donald Trump pulled the U.S. out of the U.N.’s Paris Agreement, America continues to lea the world in reduced carbon emissions.

None of these points seemed to occur to Thunberg. Nor did Zakaria note them to her.
The only thing that appears to separate her from other climate-activist zealots like former Vice President Al Gore is her commitment. Unlike Gore, who continues to enjoy a capitalist lifestyle while kvetching about climate change, Thunberg has given up most capitalist luxuries.
“I have stopped flying, I have stopped eating meat and dairy and I have stopped consuming new things and buying new things,” she revealed Sunday to Zakaria.
Other than for this difference, she seems to be just as “brainwashed” as Gore, as noted by social media:
Human parrot @GretaThunberg has been brainwashed, scripted, programmed, rehearsed by climate change deranged adults. Pretty repulsive to see her being used & paraded around by globalist lapdog @FareedZakaria & fake news champion @CNN. No end 2 their lack of ethics & integrity!

Disgusting promotion of the exploitation of a vulnerable and brainwashed child, shame on you!

@GretaThunberg Poor brainwashed teenager. You have been lied to. Sad.

So sad how they’ve brainwashed this child.
Using children to destroy Western Civilization…..disgusting.

Using a brainwashed child to appeal to the gullible’s emotions. How CNN of you. (No babies were taken out of their incubators in the making of this propaganda)
