Democrats continue to push their open-borders agenda by hijacking the negotiations for the “Chuck Schumer Shutdown” to restrict ICE’s enforcement authority.
Senate negotiators want to drastically limit ICE’s ability to detain illegal immigrants as they barter with Republicans to pass an interim federal budget.
This could result in large numbers of illegal aliens — some of whom are violent criminals — being let loose in your neighborhood. The Daily Caller reported:
“The Senate is discussing limiting bed space operated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement to only those illegal immigrants detained by the U.S. Border Patrol. It would significantly reduce the number of aliens that ICE could detain and deport.
Homeland Security officials fear that the policy change would endanger states and localities who wish to cooperate with ICE in the transfer of criminal illegals.”
Former acting ICE Director Thomas Homan called the proposals “absolutely ridiculous” and said the move would endanger local communities by putting criminal illegal aliens out in the streets.
“If I was a Republican this is not something I’d consider,” Homan told the Daily Caller. “If they want to give us less beds, then we’re back to catch and release.”
Democrats Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer said they will not fund President Trump’s border wall and are only willing to offer $1.3 to $1.6 billion in “border security” funding.
Keep in mind that illegal immigration costs US taxpayers $113 billion every year.
White House senior adviser Stephen Miller said all Americans must support the border wall because our national sovereignty is at stake.
“At stake is the question of whether or not the United States remains a sovereign country,” Miller said. “The Democrat Party has a simple choice: They can either choose to fight for America’s working class or to promote illegal immigration. You can’t do both.”
Meanwhile, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham doubled-down on his pro-wall stance.
“We will not give up the wall,” Graham told Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro yesterday. “We’re going to build a wall.”
Graham continued: “They hate Trump so much and want him to lose. They cannot understand that America has to win. We will not give in. I’m a pretty sensible guy, but we’re not going to give in.”
Flashback to Chuck Schumer condemning illegal immigration:
GOP must stand strong on promise to protect our border.
Make Democrats defend their radical shift on border policy.
Make them explain why $5.7 B, 0.1% of the federal budget, can’t be invested to stop the illegal crossing of 400,000 people per year.
