Schooling Representative-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may never get old.
The New York Democratic socialist who regularly entertains with her embarrassing political gaffes just sparked another round of social media face-palms.

Ocasio-Cortez questioned how Republicans planned to pay for President Trump’s proposed border wall after passing a spending bill allocating $5.7 billion for it.
The freshman lawmaker suggested other options for spending the money, such as increasing pay for teachers, subsidies for college tuition and “green jobs.”
And just like that, GOP discovers $5.7 billion for a wall.
$5.7 billion
What if we instead added $5.7B in teacher pay?
Or replacing water pipes?
Or college tuition/prescription refill subsidies?
Or green jobs? But notice how no one’s asking the GOP how they’re paying for it. https://t.co/jXdm1w9bpy

These, after all, seem much more important ways to spend Americans’ taxes than providing national security.
And just like that, it was time for Ocasio-Cortez to go back to school as social media users reminded her that, in fact, the U.S. Constitution actually requires the federal government to protect its citizens.
The “United States shall guarantee to every State a republican form of government and shall protect each of them against invasion,” reads Article Four, Section Four of the U.S. Constitution.
Here’s the thing… umm… defending our borders is actually… like… a function of Federal government. And the stuff you listed is… like… so not. https://t.co/2UCpymb3oe

The federal government pays for none of that. Do you have any idea how government works?

BREAKING: Incoming US Congresswoman doesn’t know what IS and what IS NOT the duty and responsibility of the Federal Government.
Based on the Congresswoman in question, few are at all surprised.https://t.co/2N9aS0LkBq

Now you’re questioning how someone is going to pay for something?!? Lolololol. Oh the irony.

Literally none of those things is the job of the federal govt. – from the get-go they have been charged with protecting our people and our BORDERS. That IS their main job.
Not paying teachers.
Not fixing pipes.
Not pretending to care about green energy.
Not paying for college. https://t.co/6bxxsjukJo— Bunny The Christmas Foo (@PolitiBunny) December 21, 2018
