White House senior adviser Stephen Miller pulled no punches with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer in a fiery interview over border security.
The two locked horns over the issue on CNN’s “The Situation Room” on Thursday as Blitzer grilled Miller on funding for President Donald Trump’s proposed wall for the U.S.-Mexico border.
Miller attempted to respond to Blitzer’s question about the GOP cooperating with Democrats to come up with a compromise on an interim spending bill that Trump has demanded needs to include $5 billion in border wall funding. The president has threatened to not sign any spending bill that does not include the funds, setting up a potential government shutdown.
“The Democrats, all they have to do is support border security and the government will be funded,” Miller said.
“The Democrats support border security, they don’t support five billion dollars for a wall,” the CNN host interjected.
“Could you identify for me, Wolf, some of the kinds of border security you’re saying the Democrats are going to support?” Miller asked.
As Blitzer responded that the Democrats “all say they support border security,” Miller shut him down.
“They voted against Kate’s law. They voted against ending sanctuary cities. They voted against deporting MS-13 gang members. They voted against deporting violent criminals. They voted time and time again against a physical border wall to stop illegal entry,” Miller fired back.
“Where is the evidence that you keep asserting they’re for border security?” he demanded.
“They haven’t been. They oppose closing loopholes for asylum that flood our system with meritless claims,” Miller asserted.
Blitzer’s response?
He moved on to “another sensitive issue.”

The CNN host repeatedly confronted Miller and interrupted him during the segment. At one point he asked the White House adviser to “calm down” because he was apparently ranting.
Though that made great headlines on the left, the video clip showed Miller defending the president and calling for action on illegal immigration.

Blitzer continued to act like an arm of the Democratic Party, pressing Miller with his own opinions and pompously trying to school the GOP on national security.
