Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez sparked online face palms – again – as her shot at Sen. Lindsey Graham missed its mark.
The incoming New York congresswoman took aim at Graham in a tweet calling out his remarks in an interview allegedly saying he was okay with President Donald Trump “lying about sex.”
“Didn’t he impeach Bill Clinton over the same thing?” she asked, linking to an article in the Daily Beast reporting on Graham’s interview with Fox News host Neil Cavuto on Friday.
Didn’t he impeach Bill Clinton over the same thing? https://t.co/FOP9Q3iIDW

Maybe Ocasio-Cortez should have actually read the article or watched the interview before tweeting.
Graham discussed allegations that Trump illegally ordered his lawyer, Michael Cohen, to make hush payments to two women just before the 2016 election. The South Carolina Republican compared his views on Trump’s case to that of former President Bill Clinton, who was impeached for lying about an affair with White House intern, Monica Lewinsky.
“I voted against that article of impeachment, because I think most people, blindsided, would lie to protect their family,” Graham said. “Lying about sex wasn’t enough then for me and it’s not enough now.”
Twitter users slammed Ocasio-Cortez for her ignorance.
No, Clinton was impeached after being accused of “lying under oath to a federal grand jury and obstructing justice.” https://t.co/xQ1r66OFdB https://t.co/fRCM5ByMEH

Hmmmmm….this speaks volumes and blows her narrative out of the water! Maybe the Three Chambers of Congress have something to add? ??

It is not about morality. Clinton was in office at the time, Trump was a private citizen.

Except, he didn’t vote to impeach Clinton. It’s actually *in* the article Ocasio is quoting. He was the only republican NOT to vote to impeach.

Bill Clinton was impeached for the same reason he lost his license to practice law, for lying to a federal grand jury and obstruction of justice
Were you even alive then? Do you even know the difference between an accusation and proof? You should read more and talk less pic.twitter.com/BRyrDj7I9L

Meanwhile, Graham dared those threatening to impeach Trump to just “go ahead.”
“If you think this is worthy of impeachment in the House, go ahead. I think most Americans won’t agree with you,” Graham told Cavuto, noting his stand during Clinton’s impeachment when he voted against one of the four Articles of Impeachment in the House Judiciary Committee.
“Lying about sex wasn’t enough then for me. And it’s not enough now,” he said.
