Melania Trump’s Toys for Tots visit fills room with smiles. Plaid jacket, skinny jeans and gorgeous navy boots rocked.

A lover of all things Christmas, first lady Melania Trump enthusiastically took part in a Toys for Tots event Tuesday at the Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington, D.C.

Each year the U.S. Marines Corps Reserve-led Toys for Tots program distributes toys to poverty-stricken children. Trump participated last year and had been itching for this year’s festivities to begin.

“I have been looking forward to this event ever since last year’s ended. As a mother, I feel children are the most precious gift of all. They provide so much joy in life,” she said during a speech at the event Tuesday, according to The Hill.

“As first lady, I have made it my mission to shine a light on programs that provide more opportunities for children to succeed. My campaign, ‘Be Best,’ focuses on the inspiring and lifesaving work of people and organizations across our country.”

This year the first lady greeted children, joined them in crafting holiday cards and teamed up with the one and only Santa Clause to hand out “Be Best” tote bags reportedly filled with goodies.

“I believe in the good work that Toys for Tots is doing,” she added during her speech. “Their mission to send messages of hope to children and motivate them to grow into responsible and patriotic citizens and community leaders is so important to our society.”

Trump also reportedly donated 100 books to the Toys for Tots Literacy Program and helped sort Santa’s many toys, including dolls, cars, games and stuffed animals, among others.

Retired Lt. Gen. Henry Osman, the president and CEO of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, told the media that she was the organization’s “No. 1 volunteer.”

“What a champ she has been,” he said.

The Toys for Tots event occurred about two weeks after the first lady finally unveiled this year’s White House Christmas decorations.

Of special note this year was the “Be Best” theme in the Red Room: “The room is filled with ‘Be Best’ ornaments as well as ornaments paying tribute to kids favorite activities, such as skateboarding, karate, reading, and ice skating,” the Daily Mail notes.

The Mail also noted that the first lady participated in this year’s Toys for Tots event while wearing a $1,050 Tomas Maier jacket with skinny jeans and navy boots.

Trump is known for both her love of Christmas and her love of children. Launched earlier this year, her “Be Best” campaign advocates for the well-being of young children and teens.

“It remains our generation’s moral imperative to take responsibility and help our children manage the many issues they are facing today, including encouraging positive social, emotional, and physical habits,” she said in a statement during the initiative’s launch.

Save for the haters, the public’s reaction to her “Be Best” campaign has been positive. So has the reaction to her participation in this year’s Toys for Tots event.

But as usual, there was a lot of hate too from those poor Scrooges  so overcome with Trump Deranagement Syndrome that they’re incapable of seeing good in anything.
