A former Miss America contestant is facing charges after allegedly sending obscene photos to a minor.
Ramsey Carpenter Bearse, a former Miss Kentucky winner, was arrested Friday and charged with four felony counts of distributing or displaying obscene matter to a minor, WSAZ reported.
The 28-year-old, who is an eighth-grade science teacher at Andrew Jackson Middle School in Cross Lanes, West Virginia, allegedly sent the photos through Snapchat to a 15-year-old former student. The unidentified student’s parent informed authorities when the photos were found on the teen’s phone.

“Mrs. Bearse is a teacher at Andrew Jackson Middle School. We cannot comment on personal matters, but we will follow all applicable policies and procedures. The safety and security of our students is our top priority,” Kanawha County Schools Communications Director Briana Warner said.
The 2015 Miss America contestant who was crowned Miss Kentucky in 2014 reportedly admitted sending the lewd photos, according to authorities.

The mother of the 15-year-old boy alerted authorities on December 5, according to court documents, which indicate that Bearse admitted sending the minor “4 photographs of her nude breast/chest area via Snapchat…from around August 2018 to end of October 2018.”
Officials say they can’t specify if more underage victims are involved, but they are urging anyone else with additional information to come forward.

Bearse was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis when she was 20 years old after realizing there was something wrong while playing the fiddle, a talent she displayed during the 2015 Miss America pageant.

“I have no comment to make to you all at this time,” she said.
