The daughter of the late Dean Martin declared she has no intentions of stopping her performances of a classic Christmas song in spite of complaints from politically correct Scrooges.
Deana Martin refuses to stop singing “Baby It’s Cold Outside,” a song sung by her father and many others for over 70 years which was recently pulled from an Ohio radio station because a proponent of the #MeToo movement deemed it offensive.

“’Baby It’s Cold Outside’ is a cute, flirtatious and romantic song written by Frank Loesser in 1944,” Martin, who has kept her father’s legacy alive on stage since the legendary performer’s death at age 78 from acute respiratory failure in 1995, told Fox News.
“It won the Oscar for ‘Best Original Song’ in the 1949 film ‘Neptune’s Daughter.’ It’s been recorded by dozens of the world’s top recording artists for over 60 years, including my dad Dean Martin,” she added. “This song is included in his very successful 1959 ‘Winter Romance’ album and I’m very proud that it has become an evergreen favorite that is played every holiday season.”
But the Christmas classic was yanked from the playlist at Cleveland radio station WDOK last week after one listener reportedly objected to the song as inappropriate.
I think this is crazy! ?

That decision has not impacted Martin, however.
“I personally love performing ‘Baby It’s Cold Outside’ and will continue to do so,” the 70-year-old performer said. “Merry Christmas!”
She tweeted a link to the song with a request to retweet.

Martin also posted her support on her Instagram account, declaring she loved the song.
She later posted a photo of herself with the caption “It’s the most wonderful time of the year.”
Radio stations nationwide have been polling listeners about the song and whether the lyrics – about a man trying to convince a woman to stay at his house instead of heading out into the cold – are a problem in light of today’s culture of #MeToo.
San Francisco-based station 96.5 KOIT pulled the song from its playlist but resorted to a poll of listeners after being barraged with requests to reinstate the classic. One has to wonder why a poll is necessary after the station was already inundated with calls in favor of the song.
“On Monday, December 3rd, 96.5 KOIT Program Director, Brian Figula, made the decision to remove ‘Baby It’s Cold Outside’ (from various artists) after receiving complaints from listeners, and the trending national story from Cleveland,” the station said. “After removing the song, we have received hundreds of comments on social media and via email demanding that ‘Baby It’s Cold Outside’ be placed back to the Christmas Playlist.”
An online poll by KOSI 101 in Denver generated more than 15,000 responses which “showed overwhelmingly that KOSI 101.1 listeners were in favor of the holiday classic returning to the air,” the station said in a news release.
“Respondents voted 95% in favor of us keeping the song as part of KOSI 101.1’s tradition of playing all of your holiday favorites,” the station’s program director, Jim Lawson, said. “While we are sensitive to those who may be upset by some of the lyrics, the majority of our listeners have expressed their interpretation of the song to be non-offensive.”
Deana Martin’s nod to the classic song and her father sparked dozens of supportive responses on Instagram.
“I sure hope Real Americans fight back against these absolute morons!” one comment read. “This is absolutely pathetic, who the hell are these fools.”
“Why must people look for the negative in everything…?! I will continue to love this song and will sing it everytime I hear it!” another commenter wrote.
“When I heard this on the news all I could say was grow up,” another person added.
Reaction on Twitter was similar as many condemned the political correctness run amok.
This is my very favorite Christmas song please do not EVER stop singing it. Some people kind find bad in everything.. this has so many wonderful memories for myself and my friends and family

The nice thing about that song is that the message was so subtle. Everyone knew what the goal was, yet it was never stated.
Nowadays, some guy would merely shout, “Let’s ____ in the snow,” about 57 times, with a pounding drum beat, and then call it a “song”. ?
