The death of former President George H.W. Bush seems to have struck the left with a case of the feels as they have rolled out endless plaudits for the 41st president.
But many, like Fox News’ Shannon Bream, have speculated that liberals’ sudden love and obsession over Bush may be just a ruse to bash President Donald Trump.
Is the left suddenly discovering they love @GeorgeHWBush so they can use his legacy as a tool to go after Pres @realDonaldTrump? @BritHume weighs in on that and much more! 11p ET @FoxNews @FoxNewsNight pic.twitter.com/zImmDn6Ffb

Despite a unifying gesture by the Bush family, the left has disrespected their wishes to have no Trump-bashing at the former president’s funeral. The mainstream media found every opportunity to attack Trump over how he looked, how he sat during the service and how he greeted his predecessors who were all seated with him on the front row at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.
Newsbusters reported that “roughly six minutes and 34 seconds” after the end of the funeral services Thursday, CNN rolled into its attacks on Trump.
“And despite claiming otherwise, making the genuine and heartfelt tributes to a man of character and honor all about the current President’s supposed lack thereof,” Curtis Houck wrote.
CNN anchor Don Lemon, an ardent Trump-basher, smugly declared he would not have been able to shake hands with Trump at the funeral as former President Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama did.
Lemon denied being “petty and small,” telling colleague Chris Cuomo, “that’s real, brother. That’s real,” on Wednesday night, after saying he “can’t fake the funk” and admitting he is “not that big a person.”
.@donlemon gets called out by @ChrisCuomo for saying he wouldn’t have shaken Trump’s hand at 41’s service if he were Obama.

Plenty of others criticized the left’s frothing at the mouth over Trump under the guise of praising Bush, and especially called out the unprofessional moves by CNN.
The Bush family didn’t want the funeral to be about Trump. The funeral wasn’t about Trump!
CNN has been talking about Trump’s body language for 30 minutes.

CNN literally trashed President Trump for giving respects to President George H.W. Bush.
Disgusting network. Disgusting people. CNN is trash.

Bush 41 was about unity and reaching across the aisle. He personally wanted Trump there. @CNN is working overtime to insult his memory by creating more division.

Politics can be awful, but maybe focus on the good — like the fact that in spite of all of this, these same people gathered together with the same purpose to honor someone and give comfort to the grieving family. You don’t always have to keep score.

Meanwhile, Bream’s tweet and her question about the left using Bush’s “legacy as a tool to go after” Trump sparked overwhelming responses on Twitter.
They eviscerated Pres Bush when he was alive….now they can’t praise him enough. They did the same to Ronald Reagan & John McCain. The MSM wonders why we call them the fake news media….I prefer to call them hypocrites

Funny. I’m old enough to remember when the they called him a wimp and a racist. Ah. The good old days.

Yes, that’s exactly what the “tolerant,” “inclusive,” “open minded,” “diverse” “progressive” left is doing. It could not be more obvious.

I’m very surprised, never imagine that the press and alt left have so much love and respect for former president Bush, TG I’m alive to witness the biggest act of hypocrisy in my lifetime, see it to believe it!

Today you will hear touching, beautiful tributes about an honorable man President HW Bush
But make no mistake, the media hated this man and his family while he was in office
They did everything they could to destroy him and get Clinton elected #FakePraise #Remembering41 pic.twitter.com/wE3Rio9cJu
