In response to the news Tuesday that special counsel Robert Mueller recommended former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn receive a lenient sentence for lying to the FBI, Rudy Giuliani called Mueller’s team a bunch of “sick puppies.”
Giuliani, now President Trump’s attorney, didn’t mince his words, saying that Flynn had admitted to offenses comparable to “spitting on the sidewalk,” according to Fox News.
The former New York City mayor told Fox News nothing in the sentencing memo suggested collusion between Trump and Russian officials, and ripped Mueller’s team — often referred to by the president as “13 angry Democrats — as “overzealous media-inspired prosecutors.”
“They are sick puppies,” Giuliani said. “This whole thing started as an orchestrated attempt to take the president out of office as an insurance policy.”
As for nicknames, Giuliani went one better in a text to Politico.
“Wow big crime for a SPECIAL WHATEVER maybe a group of Angry Bitter Hillary Supporters who are justifying themselves by the goal justifies the means….Over the top In ethical behavior,” he reportedly wrote.

Mueller cited Flynn’s “substantial assistance” in the Russia probe and other Justice Department cases in making the recommendation.
Flynn pleaded guilty last year to lying to the FBI about conversations with the Russian ambassador and admitted to making false statements about unregistered foreign agent work he performed for the benefit of the Turkish government, Fox News reported.
His sentencing is scheduled for December 18.
As for the stated assistance in the Russian probe, Giuliani is calling Mueller’s bluff, telling NBC News “they don’t have bupkis.”
Rudy Giuliani to @NBCNews re: the Flynn/Mueller latest: "There's a Yiddish word that fits," he said. "They don't have bubkes." He downplayed any concern about what Flynn may've said: "If he had information to share with Mueller that hurt the president, you would know it by now.” https://t.co/w7C6LxH97B

“If he had information to share with Mueller that hurt the president, you would know it by now,” Giuliani said of Flynn.
“‘There’s a Yiddish word that fits… they don’t have bupkis. Maybe this will convince all of America there was no collusion,’ he added.
