‘The View’ host explodes when inconvenient facts on tear gas usage get in the way: ‘I don’t care what Obama did!’

Look no further than ABC’s “The View” to find the latest in illogical liberal ignorance.

In a recent segment discussing the use of tear gas at the U.S.-Mexico border to disperse violent migrants attempting to rush the port of entry, the show’s co-hosts seemed hard pressed to believe former President Obama had ever condoned such an act.

On Wednesday’s show, in a clip highlighted by the Media Research Center, co-host Whoopi Goldberg brought up the National Review calling out the media for “flawed coverage” of the Obama administration, citing the publication’s contention that no one really cared as much when Obama tear-gassed illegal immigrants crossing the border as they do now because of President Donald Trump.

“Is there any evidence of that?” Joy Behar asked, bringing up the controversial image of a migrant mother and her children running from tear gas on Sunday when Border Patrol agents fired several rounds in order to deal with the violent crowd attempting to rush the border.

“Do you have a photo like that when Obama was in office?” she asked as Meghan McCain jumped in with a reality check for her liberal co-hosts.

“Homeland Security data does validate that, that it happened multiple times, more than once a month in fact during the Obama years,” she noted. “Facts are stubborn things, guys.”

Abby Huntsman jumped in to say, first, that “we can call out BS on both” sides because of the president’s rhetoric before going on about the media’s hypocrisy.

“In that piece it said over a period of four months in 2014 under the Obama years, HHS allegedly placed a number of unaccompanied children into the hands of a ring of human traffickers, who forced them to work on egg farms in and around Ohio, leading to a federal and criminal indictment,” she said. “According to the indictment the minors victims were forced to work six and seven hours a week, 12 hours per day. These are the things we don’t talk about.”

Co-host Sunny Hostin was having none of her colleagues’ inconvenient (and horrifying) facts, however.

“The last I checked President Obama is no longer in office. President Trump is in office!” she exclaimed, to the delight of the audience.

“And he’s destroying the country!” Behar chimed in as Hostin asserted how she “didn’t care” if Obama did the same thing Trump was doing.

‘And this ‘But Obama’ defense doesn’t work for me…The Trump Administration has secretly continued to separate kids from their families. The Obama administration never did that. The ACLU says that kind of separation is unprecedented,” Hostin ranted.

“So this whole, ‘but Obama did it, but Obama did it,’ I don’t care what Obama did! I care what Trump is doing right here right now!” she exclaimed.

McCain made an attempt to call her co-host out on the obvious double standard.

“I think it’s strange to say that you don’t care that it was happening before.” she said. “But I’m saying the coverage didn’t even mention that this has been going on since 2012.”

McCain refused to back down even as Whoopi Goldberg tried to interject a point bashing Republicans.

“If you’re infuriated now, you should’ve been infuriated then,” McCain countered.
