Comedian Kevin Hart found himself on the receiving end of plenty of social media arrows after he and his wife, Eniko Parrish, threw a “cowboys and Indians” themed birthday party for their one-year-old son.
The backlash came after several photos were shared on Instagram, featuring their son Kenzo and a few others dressed as cowboys, being well outnumbered by those posing as American Indians.
“Zos cowboys & indians party was nothing but amazing! Thanks to everyone for coming.. we love you guys!” the caption read on one of the photos.

As for cowboys, they don’t come any cuter than this!
But in post-Obama America, where political correctness rules the day and cultural appropriation just won’t do, the party was not about to pass muster with the social justice warriors on the left.
One online response stated: “Throwin a ‘Cowboys & Indians’ birthday party on ‘Thanksgiving’ celebrates genocide, white supremacy, & slavery. R those the things u @KevinHart4real & @enikohart represent & are teaching to your child? Would it be ok to throw a Master & slave birthday party? Nope.”

Here’s a few others who took exception to the themed birthday party:
Did Kevin Hart and Eniko really throw their 1-year-old a “Cowboys and Indians” themed birthday party… These celebrities really love their privilege to be socially ignorant.

@enikohart @KevinHart4real Thought it was okay to throw a cowboys and “indians” party. This is offensive and just gross. The amount of people defending this saddens me. #NativeTwitter pic.twitter.com/SHvYjMfANk

Um. Maybe next year he could have a Master Slave Owners and Slaves party? People need to understand the genocide of indigenous people in this country. It was horrific and NOTHING cute about it. Stop perpetuating this as cute. It’s not.

Not that Hart and his wife didn’t have more than their share of support:

Why. We are way to sensitive. So let’s just stop living. It’s a THEMED party. People get a grip

The PC police are so quick to be offended and even quicker with the feigned outrage and judgement. You triggered people need to prioritize your outrage and channel it to more important and pressing issues facing this country( eg poverty, crime, drugs, homelessness etc)
