Young Texas teacher killed by illegal immigrant with prior record in Thanksgiving day hit and run

With as many as 5,000 migrants encamped on our southern border, looking for an opportunity to make a mad dash into the United States, Americans were given yet another reminder this week of the perils of having millions of illegal aliens in the country.

The parents of 28-year-old Texas school teacher Amanda Ferguson are living the realities of a broken immigration system in the U.S, as they grieve the loss of their daughter, who was hit and killed by an illegal immigrant early Thanksgiving Day.

Adding insult to injury, despite being in the country illegally, Joel Velazquez, 24, was reportedly out of jail on bond for a 2017 assault charge, according to KFOX14.

“The system is broken,” father Dan Ferguson said Monday on Fox & Friends. “If an illegal alien is here in the United States and they’re caught on a crime, they need to be held in jail or detained until their trial.”

He added that once illegal aliens serve their sentences, they “should be deported, not allowed to be released back into our society and to kill our children.”

This being an inconvenient reality that Democrats routinely ignore as they choose to stand with those in the country illegally over American citizens, and call you a racist and a xenophobe if you complain.

Cynthia Ferguson, the deceased woman’s mother, called her daughter “an angel” who loved teaching her students — she also said Amanda was her “best friend.”

“She really had no clue about the effect she had on people,” the heartbroken mother said.

“Mandy” was a 6th grade teacher at Eastwood Heights Elementary School, in El Paso.

“He’s destroyed my family. My daughter, Mandy, was the glue that held my family in place, she was my everything,” the father told KFOX 14.

Speaking “father to father,” he appealed directly to President Trump on Fox & Friends to be remain steadfast in his efforts to fix the current immigration system.

“Stay vigilant,” he implored. “Please help correct the loopholes that allow these guys to come back in to our society and destroy our families.”

Velazquez, who turned himself in two days after killing Ferguson, is now on an ICE detention hold and while his bond is set at $125,000, this means he cannot bond out of jail.
