More anti-white talk: ‘Democrats have got to stop being scared of white people. Let me be real clear …’

Liberals are beginning to single out white people with troubling regularity, as seen Friday when Roland Martin appeared on MSNBC to call on Democrats to stop being afraid of white people.

Discussing the Senate special election runoff in Mississippi between incumbent Republican Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith, who is white, and black Democratic challenger Mike Espy, Martin wasting no time making race a focal point.

Of course, he was set up nicely by MSNBC’s Ali Velshi, who opened the segment by essentially calling President Donald Trump, who backs Smith, a racist for criticizing black candidates and journalists — even though the criticism had nothing to do with race.

(According to Velshi’s logic, candidates of color are above reproach.)

Falling back on the state’s racist past, Martin declared that “there’s no other state in America where you had such a stark contrast between white and black.”

And he didn’t mince his words in singling out southern whites.

“This goes beyond the issue of race,” he said. “It’s also, frankly, Democrats have got to stop being scared of white people.

“Let me be real clear. Let me say this again. Democrats have got to stop being scared of white people in the southern states.”

Martin said Democrats “have to be frank with white people” about policy issues like health care.

“You have to tell broke, white people you’re broke,” he said, making no attempt to hide his prejudice and condescension.

“If you guys want to keep voting for your guns, go right ahead,” Martin continued, “but your health care is jacked up, your education is jacked up, your economics are jacked up.”

Ironically, Velshi noted this appeal to poor white voters by people like Martin, who didn’t seem to realize he all but called them racists in his earlier comment, mimics Trump’s message to black voters in 2016, when he pointed to their history with the Democratic Party to ask what they stand to lose if they vote for him.
