An attempt by New York Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to portray the various hosts and anchors of Fox News as spoiled, ritzy snobs has it would appear fallen flatter than a popped balloon.
The brief battle between the soon-to-be Democrat congresswoman and Fox News began after the network held a discussion Friday morning about her apartment-finding tribulations.
“I have three months without a salary before I’m a member of Congress, so how do I get an apartment? Those little things are very real,” Ocasio-Cortez had said in an interview Wednesday.
During the discussion Friday, the various hosts and contributors agreed that living in Washington, D.C., can be a real hassle but also noted that the socialist’s complaints seemed like a gimmick.

“I think what she’s talking about is all of the money in Washington, all of the wealth in Washington, all of the power and a little, simple person like her from New York can’t find a place to live. It is a brilliant political line,” contributor Judy Miller said.
“It’s tough to get an apartment in D.C. I also think she’s not alone. She might be the only one talking about it, but a lot of congressmen in Washington, D.C., say given the cost of living there, it’s not exactly easy to get by,” another contributor added.
Some members of Congress literally live out of their offices, and all without complaining on Twitter.
Fox News journalist Ed Henry chimed in too by noting that Ocasio-Cortez should have been saving her money instead of wasting it on frivolous activities like luxurious photo shoots.
Ocasio-Cortez responded later that afternoon with the following unnecessarily hostile tweet:
1. @FoxNews, why can’t any of your anchors say my name correctly? It’s been 5 months.
2. It is bizarre to see 1%-salaried anchors laugh at the US housing crisis.
3. Never purchased pricey clothes + always told my story. But repeating lies until they are believed is your thing. https://t.co/Py5aXFi3Z4

Though liberals on Twitter rushed to like her tweet, they might want to spare a moment to listen to the reply Henry issued Saturday morning on “Fox & Friends.”
“Look, I get it, I live in Washington. It’s very expensive,” he said, before noting that members of Congress make more than most Americans. “Members of Congress make $174,000 a year. That’s a lot more than people around the country, many people.”
“And there are 435 Democrats and Republicans in the House who have to maintain two homes. Some of them have four or five kids in Georgia, in California, they have to fly back and forth. It’s not easy to do it, they somehow do it. I’m not mocking it and I do believe we have a housing crisis in America.”
Ocasio-Cortez has neither a spouse nor kids.
“Come on the show. Let’s talk about that issue. You are a congresswoman now, or are going to be very soon. Come on Fox,” Henry concluded.

Considering that Ocasio-Cortez once accused a renowned conservative political commentator of “catcalling” her after he challenged her to a simple debate, it’s unlikely she’ll accept Henry’s offer.
And according to conservatives on social media, the soon-to-be congresswoman’s spat with Fox News left her — not the hosts and anchors of Fox — looking like the spoiled, ritzy snob.

They were correct to highlight her upbringing. While she claimed that she grew up in the Bronx, she actually spent the majority of her childhood in an upscale suburb in Westchester County with a median income of $95,523. When called out for this lie over the summer, she caught an attitude.
