Former White House adviser Sebastian Gorka maintains that the increasingly disrespectful behavior of mainstream reporters is innately linked to the rise of violence and harassment against conservatives.
He shared this belief Thursday evening, while linking two separate events that occurred this week: CNN chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta behaved erratically at a White House presser, and left-wing activists “protested” outside Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s home.
“There is a direct line between Jim Acosta’s behavior at that press conference and what happened at our friend Tucker’s house,” Gorka argued. “These people are repeatedly crossing the line of what is acceptable, whether you’re a reporter in the White House or whether you are a demonstrator in D.C.”
“They are undermining or they are broadening what is called the Overton window, meaning the list of things that are deemed acceptable. This behavior — Jim Acosta’s behavior and the behavior at Tucker’s house — would have been deemed absolutely unacceptable just two years ago.”
During the first incident Wednesday afternoon at a press conference hosted by President Donald Trump, Acosta refused to cede the microphone after the president explicitly told him to hand it to a White House intern. Instead the CNN reporter tried to push the intern away.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders responded to the altercation later that evening by posting a video clip of it to Twitter and announcing that she’d revoked Acosta’s press pass. The footage she shared may be seen below:
Later that same evening left-wing activists linked to the extremist group Smash Racism D.C. showed up outside Carlson’s home, tried to kick in his front door, and threatened him and his family.
“They weren’t protesting anything specific that I had said,” he said during a phone interview with The Washington Post the following morning. “They weren’t asking me to change anything.”
“They weren’t protesting a policy or advocating for legislation. They were threatening me and my family and telling me to leave my own neighborhood in the city that I grew up in.”
In other words, they were behaving like actual fascists — violent ones, at that.
Tucker explained that he received a call from his horrified wife around 6 pm Wednesday evening while at his desk at work. She told that someone had tried to break through the front door.
“She had been in the kitchen alone getting ready to go to dinner and she heard pounding on the front door and screaming. Someone started throwing himself against the front door and actually cracked the front door,” he said, adding that his wife locked herself in the closet out of fear.
Luckily for both Carlson and his wife, their four children weren’t home at the time.
Watch footage from the protest below:
Nearly every member of the media — including those who’ve been critical of Carlson in the past — condemned the extremists’ actions and shared their belief that the host didn’t deserve this.
But the media response’s to Acosta’s behavior has been the opposite, with outlets from CNN to The Washington Post defending him and conversely slamming the Trump administration for allegedly doctoring the footage that Sanders shared to social media. That was a lie.
Speaking a bit before Gorka on Fox News’ “Hannity,” conservative commentator Dan Bongino asserted that there needs to be “universal” condemnation for bad actions committed by the left.
“I appreciate some of the talking heads on the Democrat side who spoke out against [the “protest” outside Carlson’s home], but this has to be universal,” he said.
He added that when a deranged Trump supporter sent pipe bombs to various Democrat political figures in late October, everyone on the right condemned his actions. The same thing happened when an anti-Trump lunatic opened fire at a synagogue, killing eight Jews.
“People have to speak out and draw a red line against this,” he said.
A red line certainly exists, as evidenced by the widespread condemnation of the extremists who harassed Carlson’s wife, but it apparently doesn’t cover the media’s own behavior. And that is a problem, according to Gorka and others.

Indeed. CNN has a astonishing 93% negative coverage about Trump and insulted him in every way from racist to white supremacist. It’s like the Bernie Sanders motivated shooter. Unstable leftists see Clinton news network and think that attacking conservatives is for a good cause.

Dr Gorka, @Acosta is the poster boy for all this intimidation (weak though it may be). Then he ran back to his lit’l fake new station & wept about his mistreatment to Zucker & his on air minions, who then wracheted up the rhetoric to dangerous & despicable.

@SebGorka, the “Direct Line” between ALL Godless leftists is the same, and America, our Constitution, and our Rule of Law has been experiencing its delitorious effects for decades.
