Fresh off his victorious stand in support of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, Sen. Lindsey Graham appealed to the Democrat Party to keep following the advice of left-wing filmmaker Michael Moore.
Appearing on Fox News’ “The Story With Martha MacCallum,” the South Carolina Republican was asked to respond to Moore suggesting on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Wednesday that Democrats “run a beloved American” against Trump.
“[Barack] Obama became beloved the night of the convention and he was beloved from that moment on. It’s gotta be like a Michelle Obama or a Sully Sullenberger,” Moore said — Sullenberger being the pilot who landed a US Airways flight in the Hudson River off Manhattan.
“It’s going to be hard to beat Trump,” Graham told MacCallum. “One of the reasons President Trump is doing so well is because of people like Moore who remind us at every turn what would happen if you put the Democrats in charge.
The lawmaker then proposed a scary thought.
“People like Michael Moore would have a bigger say in your life,” Graham said. “Not many people are jumping up and down at the idea that Michael Moore would be a frequent guest at the White House.”
MacCallum pointed out that Moore is feeling confident after Tuesday’s election.
“He feels pretty good because he looked at the midterms and says Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin all turned blue,” the Fox News host explained. “Those are formidable changes that we saw in the midterms in terms of 2020.”
“I think President Trump is going to be hard to beat,” Graham reiterated. “Midterms basically defied expectations. We actually grew the majority in the Senate. Name one time that’s happened, maybe once in the last 100 years. And the losses in the House were a lot less than historical.
His loyalty to Trump intact, the lawmaker said bring on 2020 … and for Democrats to keep looking to Moore for advice.
“I’m ready to govern,” he added. “I’m ready for 2020, I’m all in for Trump. Here’s my advice for the Democratic Party, keep listening to Michael Moore, he will steer you in the right direction.”
