According to Fox News host Tucker Carlson, whose home a mob of left-wing terrorists “protested” outside Wednesday evening, the so-called “protest” wasn’t a protest but a threat.
“They weren’t protesting anything specific that I had said,” he said during a phone interview with The Washington Post the following morning. “They weren’t asking me to change anything.”
“They weren’t protesting a policy or advocating for legislation. They were threatening me and my family and telling me to leave my own neighborhood in the city that I grew up in.”
In other words, they were behaving like actual fascists — violent ones, at that.
.@TuckerCarlson‘s “wife, thinking it was a home invasion, locked herself in the pantry and called 911.” Thanks Maxine Waters, Hillary Clinton, and Eric Holder. https://t.co/1IvVAMag0L

Tucker explained that he received a call from his horrified wife around 6 pm Wednesday evening while at his desk at work. She told that someone had tried to break through the front door.
“She had been in the kitchen alone getting ready to go to dinner and she heard pounding on the front door and screaming,” he said “Someone started throwing himself against the front door and actually cracked the front door.”
Frightened for her life, she than locked herself in the pantry and reportedly dialed the authorities. Luckily for both for her and her husband, their four children weren’t home at the time.
Watch footage from the protest below:
The footage was reportedly shared on the Facebook page of Smash Racism D.C., a far-left extremist group linked to the domestic terrorist group Antifa.
In another clip shared by the group, the extremists outside Carlson’s home accused him of “promoting hate” and “an ideology that has led to thousands of people dying.”
“Tucker Carlson, we are outside your home. We want you to know we know where you sleep at night. Tucker Carlson, we will fight! We know where you sleep at night!” he said.
Listen:
One “protester” also reportedly said something about bringing a pipe bomb to the Fox News host’s home. After the “protest,” the extremists then reportedly boasted of their behavior on Twitter.
“Tonight you’re reminded that we have a voice. Tonight, we remind you that you are not safe either,” Smash Racism D.C. reportedly wrote in its since-suspended Twitter account.
The reaction from all media professionals — even far-left ones — has been one of utter disgust. Look at the reaction from left-wing media journalists and pundits below:
Seconding what @MegynKelly said earlier: Tucker Carlson does not deserve this. (https://t.co/diNsXu9cCb) pic.twitter.com/TdDjCHQ4AI
— Brian Stelter (@brianstelter) November 8, 2018
This behavior is way over the line. Going to someone’s home, breaking their door, and terrorizing their family is unacceptable. It’s also extremely counterproductive if your interest is actually in reducing his influence. https://t.co/6isCJZIwvC

Don’t like someone on TV? Turn it off, change channel, let their advertisers know, tweet them ur opinion. But come on, don’t show up at their home & scare their kids. -> “They were threatening me and my family’: Tucker Carlson’s home targeted by protesters https://t.co/IiOIUz0G1F

Anyone who went to @TuckerCarlson house to protest/scare family, STOP IT. I don’t CARE if you don’t like him or think whatever. This behavior is beneath despicable. Tucker fans have been relentless in death threats on me and one is indicted for assault on me. Don’t mimic them.

This trend of harassing media figures and others at their homes is really detestable https://t.co/jl9BUZL3M3
— Oliver Darcy (@oliverdarcy) November 8, 2018
I, too, dislike what @tuckercarlson says on television, in books, etc. But this kind of doorstep intimidation is reprehensible. Please respect his family’s domestic life. https://t.co/QB9nEvovdF

While their sentiment is likely greatly appreciated by Carlson, the problem is that some of their left-wing followers have become so radicalized that they don’t want to hear this.
“Yes he does. Protesting someone is not violence and Tucker deserves to be protested,” the top-voted reply to Stelter’s otherwise completely sensible tweet reads.

Yes he does. Protesting someone is not violence and Tucker deserves to be protested.

Meh I’m okay with it.
— Jeff (@Jcool0) November 8, 2018
Whatever. Let him spend his Fox salary on security if he feels threatened by free speech. Propaganda has consequences. No sympathy here.
— whiskyjack42 (@whiskyjack42) November 8, 2018
What does he expect? Trump has vilified the press and media as “enemies of the people “ He is open game for the hatred he incites. The people are tired of being used like garbage. They are going to revolt. Carlson will be collateral damage of trump.

I’m sorry I have absolutely no sympathy for anybody from Fox news NONE they have done nothing but sow discord in the country with lies and distortions they reep what they sow
— k hank #resist (@khankiso) November 8, 2018
This is the same douche that thinks it’s ok as long as it’s happening to other people, fuck that guy, he’s starting to reap what he’s sowed. No I don’t think it’s right either but this asshole goes on air to millions of knuckleheads each night and promotes this kind of shit!
— Eric Perfect (@EricPerfect67) November 8, 2018
Tucker Carlson has called for violence against liberals for a long time. He gets no sympathy from me.
— Political Monkey (@PoliticalMonky) November 8, 2018
Unfortunately, the same pundits who defended Carlson have no interest in talking about this sort of extremism. The only extremism that concerns them is that perpetrated by alleged conservatives.
