‘It’s a cracker state’: Andrew Gillum staffer caught in racist rant, calls campaign promises a ‘fairy tale’

According to Democrat Florida gubernatorial nominee Andrew Gillum’s longtime friend and current staffer Omar Smith, even if his scandal-plagued boss wins the upcoming midterm election next Tuesday, the majority of his agenda will never be implemented.

Why? Because Florida is a “cracker state” where the so-called ‘crackers’ keep voting Republicans into the legislature, according to Smith. And thanks to the separation of powers, these Republican legislators have the power to stymie Gillum’s radical anti-cop and anti-Israel agenda.

“This is a f–ked up state. It’s a cracker state,” Smith bluntly said in an undercover investigation video recorded by Project Veritas, adding that Gillum’s promises are nothing but a “fairy tale.”

Listen:

“Modern day fairy tales start with ‘once I am elected,’” he continued. “So, let’s go back to Mr. Gillum’s platform, right? Raise the corporate tax in Florida from 7 to 11 percent. That will never happen. Raise teacher’s pay to $50,000, that will never happen. Give me another position.”

“Medicare for all, that will never happen. The reason being, the legislature that write the bills is all Republican controlled. Democratic governor, Republican legislature. So, unless the legislature writes a bill, and it got voted on the floor, it cannot pass.”

Smith appeared to be frustrated by the system of checks and balances instituted by America’s Founding Fathers, though it remains unclear why he blamed Florida’s white voters — or ‘crackers,’ as he referred to them — for this centuries-old rule.

Toward the end of the clip above, Smith said something about Gillum needing to “appeal to white guilt” to win the upcoming midterm election. It’s unclear what he meant by this.

Conservative activist James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas reportedly obtained this footage by planting an undercover journalist in Gillum’s campaign. His team also recorded Smith admitting that his boss is among the “crazies,” i.e., those in the far-left who’ve seemingly lost touch with reality.

That comment may be heard toward the end of the following clip:

The most damaging footage obtained by O’Keefe’s team shows Florida Democrat Party community engagement specialist Adrian Young readily admitting that though Gillum presents himself as someone interested in so-called sensible gun reform, he believes in gun bans.

“I do think he’s not saying specifically like I’m going to ban bump stocks or I’m against ARs, only because he’s running a race right now,” she said.

“I do think he would support anybody doing that stuff, Bill Nelson… But I don’t think he can say it just [be]cause he’s trying to get the moderates and the gun-toting people in North Florida.”

Listen:

As of Thursday, Gillum appeared to be ignoring all this footage, likely in part because of the mainstream media’s refusal to share any of it with their viewers.

According to polling averages tracked by RealClearPolitics, Gillum continues to lead his opponent, Rep. Ron DeSantis, by an average of three percentage points. Some on social media are hopeful that O’Keefe’s footage will help “expose” the truth to the people of Florida.

Look:

The irony is that Gillum has a history of using false allegations of racism to smear his political opponents, including DeSantis. Yet judging by the footage captured by Project Veritas, the true racism lies within his own campaign.
