Synagogue shooter hated pro-Israel Trump so media tied his motive to migrant caravan

Two separate narratives have emerged regarding alleged synagogue shooter Robert Bowers, who on Saturday opened fire at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, killing at least 11.

The first narrative — a media favorite — describes him as a right-leaning fanatic whose views on the incoming caravan from Central America appear to be in lockstep with the Republican Party.

The second narrative centers more-so on his virulent antisemitism and anti-Trump rage, both of which some commenters have noted matches the rhetoric of the Democrat Party.

Touted by left-wing commentators on CNN, the first narrative focuses on posts Bowers recently published on the social media website Gab in which he blamed the incoming caravan of migrants and illegal immigrant on HIAS, a Jewish refugee agency.

“Several of the messages that he was posting was against a Jewish refugee resettlement agency. One of the points he was making is that this agency is bringing people in, Jews in, and he said, among many other things, that ‘my people’ are being slaughtered,” a CNN anchor noted Saturday.

“This is also what you hear on the far right. On talk radio, you hear about an alleged invasion that obviously is not really happening,” CNN senior media correspondent Brian Stelter added. “That’s the rhetoric on the far right.”

While some conservatives have classified the veritable army of migrants and illegal immigrants as an invasion force, none have complained about HIAS.

Some have however speculated that the caravan is being financed by Democrat operatives linked to left-wing billionaire George Soros. But this speculation isn’t rooted in antisemitism — it’s rooted in Soros’ track record of funding left-wing causes.

The second narrative places the spotlight on Bowers’ hatred for both the Jewish people and President Donald Trump, whom he’d accused of being under Jewish control.

“Bowers made his hatred of Trump clear,” Slate magazine noted in a report Saturday. “‘Trump is a globalist, not a nationalist,’ he wrote two days ago. ‘There is no #MAGA as long as there is a kike infestation.’ At another point, Bowers reposted a message that suggested Trump was under the control of Jews, who are out to destroy Western civilization.”

This bigoted rhetoric about the Jewish people perfectly matches the hateful anti-Jewish rhetoric frequently used by the Democrat Party and its allies, including Nation of Islam found Rev. Louis Farrakhan and anti-Israel activist Linda Sarsour.

Some have noted that the shooting occurred only days after Farrakhan described Jews as “termites” in a Twitter post that still remains posted despite widespread condemnation from the Jewish community and their conservative allies.

In a piece for the Chicago Tribune earlier this year, columnist John Kass argued that the Democrats’ silence regarding Farrakhan’s rhetoric is telling.

“[F]ew if any Democratic voices are being raised against Farrakhan. The Congressional Black Caucus certainly won’t condemn him. And white Democrats aren’t demanding condemnation either. They don’t want to risk losing votes,” he wrote.

“This silence is dangerous. And it incites and gives hateful license to some on the hard right, provoking equally hateful views. What we’re witnessing is the Balkanizing of the United States. And the left’s silence about Louis Farrakhan is the canary in the coal mine.”

It’s because of this silence that many on social media are puzzled by the left’s rush to blame Bowers’ actions on conservatives, when in reality it would appear his views align far more closely with theirs:
