Pro-Trump man says family was denied service at Ruby Tuesday over MAGA t-shirt

A Trump supporter took to social media to say that he was treated rudely at a Ruby Tuesday restaurant in Roanoke, N.C., on Saturday because he was sporting a Trump “Make America Great Again” t-shirt.

Identified as Frank Ottoman on his Periscope account, the man said the hostesses were rude and didn’t greet him and his family when they walked into the restaurant and later told him it would be a 20 minute wait, even though there were a number of empty tables.

“Denied service at @rubytuesday in Roanoke Rapids North Carolina because of Trump shirt,” Ottoman tweeted, including a Periscope video detailing his encounter.

Ottoman said in the video he heard the Ruby Tuesday employees mumble something about “Trump supporters” and saw customers who came in after him get seated right away.

A tweet from a Twitter account that appeared to be Ottoman’s wife, echoed his claim, to include photos of empty tables.

It’s worth noting that in many restaurants, the dining room is broken into stations and depending on the number of servers, some stations remain closed.

In a follow up tweet posted Sunday, Ottoman said he had not received a reply from the restaurant chain, while repeating his claim.

In a later tweet, Ottoman included a complaint he filed with Ruby Tuesday, adding that he had still not heard from the company.

“Still no response from @rubytuesday I have now contacted them several times, while they should be trying to contact me. Very sad,” he tweeted.

Ottoman tweeted Monday morning that he received an email from Ruby Tuesday.

“Still waiting for an official public response from but I did get an email from someone at Corp asking if there was a situation I wanted to get in touch with them about,” he tweeted.
