Democrat Keith Ellison vehemently denied the domestic violence allegations leveled at him by two former girlfriends during a heated debate with his Republican opponent Doug Wardlow on October 21. Both Ellison and Wardlow are running to be the attorney general of Minnesota.
Congressman Ellison — who’s the deputy chair of the Democratic National Committee — said his party’s investigation cleared him of any wrongdoing. “I think it is absolutely improper for this to become a political football and a weapon in this election,” Ellison said, as reported by Minnesota Public Radio.
Meanwhile, Ellison’s former girlfriend — Democrat Karen Monahan — slammed her party’s cursory investigation, saying they ignored “substantial corroborative evidence” supporting her claims.
At the debate, Doug Wardlow also accused Ellison of being a “cheerleader for cop killers” and a close ally of the racist, anti-Semitic Louis Farrakhan.
Keith Ellison is the first Muslim elected to the United States Congress. He has had a close relationship with Farrakhan — the controversial leader of the militant Nation of Islam — for years, even though Ellison claimed that his ties were limited to the 1990s. That is false.

Wardlow said his job as attorney general of Minnesota requires him to enforce and defend the law, whereas he says Ellison wants to use the post to make law.
“The job of the Attorney General is not to weigh in and make laws,” Wardlow said. “But Keith Ellison apparently thinks it is. If you wanted to make laws, you should have stayed in Congress.”
New polls show that Ellison is in a dead heat with Doug Wardlow. Some 40% of surveyed voters say the domestic abuse claims “are a factor” in whether they vote for Ellison, as BizPac Review previously reported.
Karen Monahan — who dated Ellison for several years — claimed she had video proof of Ellison dragging her off a bed by her feet while calling her a “f*cking b*tch” and yelling at her to get the f*ck out of his house.”
Monahan also said she has more than 100 abusive text messages from Ellison.
Doug Wardlow said liberals have a double standard when it comes to credible allegations of abuse leveled against Democrats, but he said voters can see through the media gaslighting and lies.
“Democrats only care about wealth and politics, they don’t care about truth or justice,” Wardlow said. “Minnesotans are going to go to the polls and retire Keith Ellison from politics. It will be a great thing for the nation.”
