For those who haven’t been paying attention, Sen. Orrin Hatch’s Twitter account can be lit, with the Utah Republican dishing out snark on an epic level, as seen Monday when he mocked Sen. Elizabeth Warren over her just released DNA test.
Hatch killed it when he tweeted, “These DNA tests are quite something.”
Included in the tweet was a joke that he may have the same percentage T-Rex in him as Warren has Native American: “DNA Test Results 1/1032 T-Rex. The rest: other dinosaurs.”

It’s enough to make one wonder if it’s really the 84-year-old GOP lawmaker at the switches of his social media account, or some young smart aleck aide.
At issue, of course, is a Boston Globe report that said Warren’s DNA test showed that she was somewhere between 1/32 and 1/512 Native American, only to be corrected to say the numbers are actually between 1/64 and 1/1,024.
As hilarious as Hatch’s take was, those on the left forced into a position to defend Warren’s preposterous vindication failed to see the humor.
The Daily Beast’s Sam Stein likened the tweet to incivility in the U.S. Senate — you know, kind of like what we saw when Democrats launched an 11th hour ambush of then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
“When they speak of how the old senate had more civility, recognize that Hatch has been there for decades and does stuff like this,” Stein tweeted — with a straight face, we assume.

It appears that Stein didn’t quite grasp that Hatch was making fun of his own age:
Uh, he’s making fun of himself for being old

For the rest of the country, who can appreciate epic snark when they see it, Hatch’s tweet was pure gold.
Here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter:
Killing it today.
