Student forced to remove pro-Trump jersey on ‘America Night.’ Principal and Dem dad part of fallout.

Thanks to one very politically correct principal, an 18-year-old North Carolina high school student was forced to remove a pro-Trump and pro-America jersey during a football game earlier this month. To make matters worse, the principal managed to humiliate the young man in the process.

Speaking on “Fox & Friends” this Saturday morning, the unnamed Harnett Central High School student’s father, Mike Collins, said that his son had chosen to wear the shirt, which he said had been a gift from a friend, in honor of the game’s theme, “America Night.”

“This jersey was given to us by a friend, and he decided to wear it that night because it was ‘America Night,'” Collins said. “He was on the front row of the football game. Hundreds of students behind him standing up. And right before halftime he was kind of singled out by the principal and was just told to come with her and asked if he had another shirt.”

When his son said yes, the principal requested he change shirts immediately. When the young man then asked why, the principal claimed that other parents had complained about the political nature of his shirt. It’s unclear what’s political about celebrating America and its president.

Collins was not pleased by what had happened to his son, who he said had just been “doing what he’s supposed to do at a football game — just having fun, enjoying ‘America Night.'”

“And then just to be singled out, and then humiliated, paraded in front of everyone to the front gate and then asked to leave if he does not remove the shirt … at this point he was embarrassed. He felt like he was violated,” he said.

What makes this story more astonishing is that Collins and his family don’t appear to be supporters of President Donald Trump. He’s a registered Democrat, and as he explained to the Fox hosts, his son’s purpose in wearing the shirt hadn’t been to promote Trump but pay tribute to their country.

“Whether you support our president or you agree with our president or disagree, that has nothing to do with this,” he said. “We are respecting our president, we’re respecting authority, and that’s what my son did,” he added.

And for that his son was punished. But so was the principal. That’s right, former Principal Cindy Gordon has reportedly been removed from Harnett Central High School and replaced with someone else.

“We want to emphasize that Harnett County Schools supports and affirms students’ rights to express themselves — including wearing clothing expressing political messages or supporting political candidates or officeholders — in ways that are not expected to disrupt school or school events,” the local school district said in a statement.

Again, it’s unclear what’s political about celebrating America and its president. The reaction to this move was nevertheless mostly appreciative:

The only concern was whether or not Gordon still remains employed with the district in some capacity:
