Dem Rep accused of drugging, molesting a 16-year-old has no worries. Pelosi, DCCC still support him.

Despite the Democrats’ insistence that Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh shouldn’t have been confirmed to the high court because of unsubstantiated accusations of sexual assault, they themselves continue to support a congressional candidate accused of molesting a teen.

They specifically continue to support California Rep. Tony Cárdenas, who stands accused of drugging and then sexually molesting a 16-year-old “star teenage athlete” in 2007, and who nevertheless may be seen below fundraising/partying with members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus:

According to a lawsuit filed by his now-grown alleged victim back in April, she met Cárdenas at a golf tournament in 2005 and subsequently grew close to him. Two years later the then-Los Angeles City Council member invited her to play a round with him at the Hillcrest Country Club.

“Several hours into their game, the suit said, the man handed her a cup of ice water; it had an unusual taste, so she took just a few sips. The pair played golf for four or five hours, when the teenager ‘suddenly collapsed to the ground but did not lose consciousness’,” the Los Angeles Times reported in April before Cárdenas had been publicly outed as the perpetrator.

“The man drove her to the emergency room. During the ride, he reached inside her shirt and rubbed her breasts, the suit alleges. He also reached down her shorts and fondled her vagina, according to the suit. Jane Doe was ‘frozen from shock,’ according to the lawsuit.”

The suit also mentioned an incident where the California politician seemingly threatened her.

“Mr. Doe told a joke, but she failed to laugh at it. In response, Mr. Doe told her, ‘Remember where your dad works.’ She perceived that as a threat against her family’s security,” the lawsuit reportedly stated.

The victim’s father reportedly worked for Cárdenas both when he was a member of the Los Angeles City Council and also later when he became a congressman.

While these allegations remain unsubstantiated — much like the flimsy accusations against Justice Kavanaugh — the fact that such allegations exist should be enough to spur Democrats into not supporting Cárdenas’ reelection campaign. It’d only be fair given their treatment of Kavanaugh.

Note what  Cárdenas’ colleague in the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Rep. Ben Ray Luján tweeted after Kavanaugh accuser Christine Blasey Ford delivered contradictory testimony to Congress last month:

Though House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Minority Whip Steny Hoyer called for an Ethics Committee investigation into the molestation allegations back in May, as of October no investigation had yet been launched. Nor had the House minority leader even condemned Cárdenas’s alleged actions.

Meanwhile, Cárdenas had reportedly launched a legal defense fund with the Ethics Committee’s backing. All this stunning hypocrisy by Democrats has not been well received on social media.
