The poll by the media company Hill.TV and the pollster HarrisX specifically found that only 36 percent of respondents would vote for then-GOP nominee Trump were the election held again, while a 44 percent majority would vote for then-Democrat nominee Clinton.

Very convincing, right? Eh, except for one thing: Of the respondents, 41 percent admitted to voting for Clinton in 2016, while 37 percent admitted voting for Trump. Those numbers don’t match the election’s actual results: 48 percent of Americans voted for Clinton, while 45.9 percent voted for Trump.
Of the poll’s respondents, 7 percent fewer voted for Clinton, while almost 9 percent fewer voted for Trump. This suggests the poll is skewed to the left.
Of course, Clinton’s camp has chosen to just ignore the skewed nature of this poll and use it as evidence that the American people are dissatisfied with the president.
“In 2016, I think a bunch of Americans thought to themselves ‘let’s just blow things up and see what happens,'” Clinton’s 2016 campaign manager, John Podesta, said in an email to The Hill. “Now that they have actually seen what happens, they wish they could get back to the strong, steady leadership that Hillary has always provided.”
Back up there, hotshot, because there’s another glaring problem with this poll. As your boss learned the hard way two years ago, elections are not determined by the popular vote — they’re determined by electoral points. This means the 8 percent point difference between Clinton’s 44 percent and Trump’s 36 percent would not necessarily translate to a victory for your boss.
Plus, and more importantly, the election isn’t actually going to be reheld, so please calm down and avoid running to your boss with the “good news.” Because the last thing America needs right now is Hillary Clinton wandering aimlessly in the woods again like Bigfoot.
