ABC’s Matthew Dowd has come under heavy fire after he labeled Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas a “sexual predator” on Twitter.
Apparently reacting to sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, Dowd took a swipe at Thomas in his effort to smear President Donald Trump’s second nominee to the high court.
“It was despicable and outrageous what happened to Anita Hill more than 25 years ago, and a sexual predator was given a lifetime seat on the SC. Let’s hope history doesn’t repeat itself in 2018,” the ABC News chief political analyst tweeted on Monday.

The conservative judge appointed by former President George H.W. Bush repeatedly denied accusations that he had sexually harassed attorney Anita Hill back in 1991 when she worked for him at the Department of Education. Thomas was confirmed despite the last-minute hearings sparked by Hill’s accusations.
Dowd was torched for his comment which launched an epic backlash against the former George W. Bush campaign official.
Many on Twitter called the comment “despicable” and “disgraceful.”

Dowd continued to tweet out his rebuttals, attacks and defense of himself, somehow even working climate change into the discussion.

Even if you believe all the accusations against Clarence Thomas, as you seem to, do you not think that “sexual predator” cheapens the term? As far as I know, Hill never said Thomas even improperly touched her, yet you use the same term that is used for a flat-out rapist.
