Stakes are high for Fla: Dem gubernatorial candidate has questionable strong anti-Israel, pro-CAIR ties

Though Florida Democrat gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum recently accused Republican challenger Rep. Ron DeSantis of bigotry and racism over the innocuous use of the phrase “monkey this up,” evidence suggests that he’s the one with a bigotry problem.

Reports published this week revealed that Gillum maintains ties with a number of anti-Semitic organizations, including the terror-supporting Council on American-Islamic Relations.

Two years ago the gubernatorial hopeful participated in a CAIR event by welcoming attendees to the Islamic Center of Tallahassee, according to a press release by CAIR itself.

“Attendees of the event were honored by a personal welcome from Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum on the Wednesday evening before the event at the Islamic Center of Tallahassee,” the organization announced on Feb. 12, 2016.

“The mayor’s words were inspiring as he applauded the Muslim community’s participation in this civic engagement event that stressed the importance of political involvement in a political climate that is, unfortunately, filled with xenophobic rhetoric.”

Look:

Yet there is no rhetoric as xenophobic as that of CAIR, which the Anti-Defamation League notes has an “anti-Israel agenda [that] dates back to its founding by leaders of the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP), a Hamas affiliated anti-Semitic propaganda organization.”

Gillum also boasts ties to Dream Defenders, a radical left-wing organization that supports the Black Lives Matter movement, wants to abolish U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and has repeatedly falsely accused Israel of perpetuating a “genocide” on the terror-affiliated Palestinians.

According to the Washington Free Beacon, during a trip to the region in 2016, Dream Defenders hired a convicted Muslim terrorist, Mahmoud Jeddah, as a tour guide.

“Jeddah, a onetime member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, spent 17 years in an Israeli prison for planting four hand grenades on a Jerusalem street, wounding nine civilians. He was later released in a prisoner swap,” the Beacon noted.

And yet Gillum is proud of his ties to this group:

He even boasts connections to one of the most notorious anti-Semites in America, left-wing activist Linda Sarsour, who it turns out happens to be a big fan of his.

The Beacon notes that Gillum previously supported and attended the Rockwood Leadership Institute, which is financed by the radical New Israel Fund non-profit, a group known for promoting anti-Israel boycotts and propaganda. And it just so happens that Sarsour is also an alum of the institute.

Perhaps the most damning evidence of Gillum’s anti-Israel bigotry is how he responded when asked about Israel’s tough response to the constant rocket attacks on its citizens by Palestinians. He reportedly the justified response as “an outsized response that has created a humanitarian crisis.”

Apparently, just like former President Barack Hussein Obama, the gubernatorial hopeful doesn’t believe the Jews of Israel have the right to protect themselves. How shocking.
