A #MeToo accuser strongly condemned those who use alleged victims of sexual assault and abuse as pawns for their political games, on Twitter Friday.
Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison accuser Karen Monahan tweeted Friday blasting figures that try to use abuse claims for their own political benefit.
Monahan accused Ellison — the Democratic National Committee deputy chairman — of violently dragging her off a bed while they were dating. Monahan came out about the incident in August, detailing events that she alleged occurred in September 2016, according to CBS News.
Abuse toward women is a political tool used by both parties when conveinant. Women r not tools to be used when it suits you. R pain & abuse is about human rights/dignity, it impacts r daily quality of life. It’s about right vs wrong, not right vs left

Monahan’s tweet comes shortly after reports that California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein sent a letter to the FBI Thursday regarding allegations that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh had tried to force himself upon a woman when he was in high school.
The allegations were reported by The New Yorker Friday. Neither the woman’s name nor the crime has been reported.
Wall Street Journal columnist Kimberley Strassel cast doubt on Feinstein’s letter accusing him of assault.
1) On Feinstein’s referral of a letter with an accusation against Kavanaugh to the FBI:
–This is impt enough to be sent to FBI, but not impt enough to have been raised before now? Can’t be both. NYT reports she got the letter this summer.— Kimberley Strassel (@KimStrassel) September 13, 2018
2)
–similarly, this is impt enough to be sent to FBI, but never shared with a single Republican charged with advice and consent?
–Feinstein statement explicitly acknowledges that the accuser did not want to take this further. So why is it with the FBI?— Kimberley Strassel (@KimStrassel) September 13, 2018
3)
–timing here cannot be ignored. Coming only after Democrats were unable to further stall a vote.
–and just to be clear, Ds and media are now using a secret letter with a secret accusation from a secret person, to try to take down Kavanaugh. Scary.— Kimberley Strassel (@KimStrassel) September 13, 2018
Former Hillary Clinton aide Brian Fallon also tweeted Friday about Kavanaugh’s proclivity for “hiring women clerks.”
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley released a letter Friday signed by 65 women who allege they knew Kavanaugh in high school.
Monahan is an organizer at the Sierra Club and advocate for “Shane’s Law,” a proposed law to legally protect alleged victims from narcissistic bullying.
Monahan did not respond to The Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
