The late Sen. John McCain’s vindictive daughter spouting anti-Trump rhetoric wasn’t the only noteworthy event that transpired at her father’s funeral Saturday, apparently.
During former Joe Lieberman’s eulogy to McCain, cameras caught former President George W. Bush snatching a piece of candy from his wife’s hand — she reportedly came equipped with candy — and slipping it into the hands of former first lady Michelle Obama.
And, just like that, the media and the resistance had yet another way to lecture conservatives on bipartisanship and more importantly, the contrast to Donald Trump, who apparently would never share a piece of candy with anyone.
Ya might disagree with him on policy but GWB was and always will be a gem of a human and a gentleman. https://t.co/m75X8KvVls

Bush is a genius. Hush up for eight years, paint some pictures, be nice-nice with the Obamas, and let the left focus on their new favorite Evil Republican Person, and boom, you’re welcome back into society.

This headline makes me want to puke!
Touching moment George W. Bush playfully sneaks candy to Michelle Obama during John McCain’s memorial service – as the latest act of tenderness between the friends melts hearts onlinehttps://t.co/WVMnEttG7Q

Hypocrite Obama globalist failure. Laughing at McCain’s funeral with Bush Family. Bush passed Michelle candy isn’t that sweet @realDonaldTrump They are colluding and obstructing plus trying to overthrow our government both sides …Trump must be on to something good #MAGA #KAG

This is where Trump has taken us as a country…Bush giving Candy to Michelle Obama is a welcome respite.
Fuck Trump https://t.co/i8PFoLfSpr

A bipartisan moment at a bipartisan funeral, blissfully and purposefully devoid of Donald Trump. https://t.co/L3PgaTbrkz

I hereby apologize to President Bush for calling him the ‘Worst President Ever’,
Donald Trump is now that‼️
Damn George for making me like him‼️

George W. Bush took the US into two wars, illegally occupied Iraq; is responsible for the deaths of over one million ppl; rolled back civil & human rights, expanded surveillance. Were he from another country, he’d be called a war criminal. ‘Journalism’ like this is embarrassing. https://t.co/SyCnnpPMXk
— Hot Take Monger (@SanaSaeed) September 2, 2018
He started a fake war that killed hundreds of thousands. Doling out candy doesn’t suddenly make Georhe W. Bush cute to me…. https://t.co/dlmojJ6ktA
— Jason Johnson (@DrJasonJohnson) September 1, 2018
Until Bush passes Michelle a note admitting he’s a war criminal and he’d like her to help him lobby for reparations for his victims, color me unimpressed by the years long game of footsies.
— dream hampton (@dreamhampton) September 1, 2018
So George W. Bush isn’t a war criminal now, and is a cuddly ally, because he gave some candy to a former First Lady and said something regarding Trump?
Is it really that easy for people to forget his neocon legacy?
— Josh Bray (@DocBray) September 1, 2018
It takes a seriously spineless or dumb twat to ignore war crimes, and pretend like War Criminal George Bush sneaking candy to Michelle Obama at War Criminal John McCain’s funeral is heartwarming moment and not the disgusting evasion of justice that it is.
— SHAFER 2018? (@stephenshafer41) September 2, 2018
Bush is a war criminal who killed hundreds of thousands for a lie. But apparently one piece of candy makes that all fine.
— VoteSusanOut (@MookBenRaffy) September 2, 2018
How many Skittles does it take for a liberal to redeem a war criminal?
It takes 4 Skittles to absolve someone from killing hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians.https://t.co/O0UDBJh41c

My heart is so warmed by candy man George W. Bush. (The W used to stand for war criminal but now it stands for warm) pic.twitter.com/AX7KoQIBDU
— Magic Quadrant? (@PlasticWig) September 2, 2018
Here is my hot take: the fact that George W. Bush is a war criminal with the personality of a six year old grandpa is kind of Kurt Vonnegutty and dumb? Well, that’s all I got. Just an old man eating candy at a funeral.
— Alex “Egg” Firer (@AlexFirer) September 2, 2018
so George Bush pass Michelle Obama a piece of candy and all the sudden we supposed to forget that he’s a f****** war criminal a million Iraqi is dead two Wars a recession and somehow we supposed to just forget everything that he did
— Ughmmm?? (@OhSheTwalling) September 1, 2018
I mean, good for Bush for passing Michelle a cough drop but I’m old enough to remember he started a war that killed hundreds of thousand based on manipulated intelligence & instituted a systematic torture program so sorry if I don’t see him as a paragon of human compassion
— Judd Legum (@JuddLegum) September 1, 2018
Fuckin despise this “lmao look at W Bush he’s so silly giving Michelle that candy” bullshit like fuck off the dude’s a legit war criminal and piece of garbage. Or did you all just suddenly fucking forget that he’s personally responsible for the deaths of thousands of people?
— Wes ? (@RevolOsh) September 2, 2018
Americans love to ignore history & reinvent the past. George W Bush was America’s worst president in generations until Trump came along, so seeing his friendship w/ Michelle Obama isn’t cute to me. It’s gross/ offensive & a reminder that there are no consequences for powerful ppl
