Lewandowski smelled a rat early: ‘I warned everybody that Michael was going to become a problem’

Turns out Corey Lewandowski had an unsung talent of being able to smell a rat.

The former Trump campaign manager appeared on “Fox News Sunday,” and dumped on President Donald Trump’s longtime attorney, Michael Cohen, saying he “warned everybody” about him. He also said Cohen was denied a role in Trump’s campaign when he ran things, even though Cohen wanted to be involved.

Cohen implicated Trump in a crime last week when he pleaded guilty to eight federal crimes, including tax evasion and making false statements to a bank — the crime involving payments that were made to porn star Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal.

“What Cohen has now pled guilty to has nothing to do with the Trump campaign or the Trump Organization,” Lewandowski told guest anchor Sandra Smith, who was filling in for Chris Wallace.

Asked why Trump trusted Cohen as long as he did, Lewandowski pointed to certain skills the lawyer possesses.

“Michael was very good at certain things and one of the things he was very good at, and we have now seen it, is intimidating people,” he said.

Lewandowski then unloaded on him.

“I didn’t like to work with Michael, I didn’t like to interact with Michael, and that’s why he had no role in the campaign, even when he wanted one,” he continued. “I was very clear when I was in charge of the campaign, Michael was not somebody who we wanted at the campaign. He would go out and make statements that we had to walk back afterwards because he would say things which were factually untrue. I warned everybody at the organization that Michael was going to become a problem.”
