Facebook apology after censorship isn’t enough, says Prager: ‘The Left doesn’t believe in free speech’

Facebook apologized to Prager University, a nonprofit conservative educational website, after the social-media monopoly censored and deleted numerous posts, claiming it was an accident.

“We mistakenly removed these videos and have restored them because they don’t break our standards,” Facebook tweeted. “This will reverse any reduction in content distribution you’ve experienced. We’re very sorry and are continuing to look into what happened with your Page.”

Dennis Prager, a conservative radio host and founder of Prager University, said the Facebook deletion was not an accident, and called it censorship. “If the Left doesn’t like what you do, they censor you,” Prager told Fox News host Shannon Bream. “The Left doesn’t believe in free speech.”

Facebook blocked at least nine of Prager University’s posts from reaching its 3 million followers, claiming the posts were deleted for “hate speech.”

Among the posts flagged by Facebook for “hate speech” were the following videos:

  • Baseball represents the best of America.
  • Your kids will respect you once you respect yourself.
  • Celebrate the enormous success of American women.

Facebook only reversed its censorship amid heavy public backlash. Meanwhile, Facebook still allows terrorists to recruit jihadis using its massive global platform. “At least a dozen U.S.-designated terror groups maintain a presence on Facebook,” Bloomberg reported in May 2018.

“That includes Hamas and Hezbollah in the Middle East, Boko Haram in West Africa, and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia. The terror groups are rallying supporters with everything from gruesome photos of death caused by their enemies to quotidian news about social services they offer.”

Dennis Prager said he’s skeptical of Facebook’s disingenuous apology for censoring his FB posts, saying he’s 100% certain that whomever brazenly deleted Prager University’s posts won’t be fired or punished for their censorship.

“I suspect there will be another ‘mistake’ in the future,” Prager said. “But the larger issue is that what is happening on university [campuses] is happening on the Internet: suppression of all non-Left speech.”

So while liberal monopolies like Facebook, Twitter, and Google actually censor conservative speech, leftist activists like CNN’s Phil Mudd and MSNBC’s John Brennan whine that President Trump is infringing their free-speech rights simply because he wants to revoke their security clearances after they were caught leaking intel.

Brennan and Mudd’s free-speech rights are so “infringed” that they go on every liberal network and trash Trump nonstop.
