Friday, August 17, marked a momentous day for conservative commentator Candace Owens. It represented the one-year anniversary of the day she uploaded her first commentary to social media.
“One year ago today I uploaded my first video onto YouTube. What an incredible year it’s been,” she tweeted Friday in celebration. “I feel tremendously grateful and humbled by this journey.”
That first video may be seen below. It’s a hilarious parody that depicts her announcing her conservatism to her very liberal and very disappointed parents.
“Thank you to all of you who have supported me since this very first upload. Thank you @charliekirk11 for taking a chance on me,” Owens’ tweet continued.
Charlie Kirk is the founder of Turning Point USA, a non-profit focus on teaching young adolescents the truth about economics and government. Only three months after Owens posted her first commentary to social media, Kirk hired her as the non-profit’s director of urban engagement.
Speaking at the MAGA Illinois Rally and Expo on Nov. 21, Owens promised a crowd of enthusiastic fans and followers that she intended to use her position with TPUSA to spur a pro-Trump conservative revolution across the country, particularly for minorities just like herself.
“I’m saying this to you now, by the end of 2018 I’m going to be one of the most well-known people in this country because I am going to lead the black revolution for the Conservative movement,” she said.
The events of the past year suggest she’s succeeded in her mission. Owens, Kirk and the organization they lead, Turning Point USA, are now household names beloved by Trump supporters and loathed by far-leftists and their media allies.
Meanwhile, support for the president among blacks has skyrocketed, and one of the reasons why may very well be Owens’ unrelenting mission to educate minorities of the truth with intelligent commentary like this:
While most of the replies to Owens’ anniversary tweet were positive, a few still-misinformed liberals felt compelled to spout some hateful and ignorant nonsense. Here’s what she’s up against:

A Liberal. That is why I call you token because of this video and those tired talking points we always hear from the right.

I am not “stuck with the Democrats”; I choose to stay with the Democratic party.
Why would I join any party that refuses to disavow itself of White Nationalists/Neo Nazis/KKK or of the many wacky conspiracy theories spewed?
No. I’ll stay put. I enjoy being reality based.

If Rosalind were to just listen to Owens’ videos, she’d quickly learn the truth, which is that the Democrat Party is itself the party of the KKK, the party of Jim Crow, the party of slavery, the party of wacky conspiracy theories and the party of white nationalism.
But leftists like Rosalind don’t want to listen to the truth. They’re a part of a cabal of far-leftists who’re too invested in the Democrat Party’s lies to ever listen to reason and logic. It’s ultimately their loss, though, because it’s only through the wisdom of conservatism — the wisdom that’s been embraced by Owens and so many other like her — that Rosalind will ever know the real truth.
