Democratic Mayor Joseph Curtatone of Somerville, Massachusetts, announced on Sunday that he will forever boycott Samuel Adams because the beer company’s founder praised President Donald Trump for cutting the corporate tax rate.
“I will never drink Sam Adam’s beer again!” Curtatone wrote.

The tweet served as a response to another user who expressed disappointment in Jim Koch, chairman of the Boston Beer Company, which produces Samuel Adams beer, after he dined with Trump. The user tweeted “Sam Adams beer founder dined with Trump, thanked him for tax cut. Guess we resistors aren’t Sam Adams beer drinkers. Just saying …”
Koch was one of 13 corporate executives who was invited to Trump National Golf Club to join the president for a discussion about the state of the economy, reported The Boston Business Journal.
During the meeting, Koch showed his appreciation for signing the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in December 2017.
“When I started Sam Adams, American beer was a joke, and it pissed me off. And now, American brewers make the best beer in the world, Koch told Trump. “And the tax reform was a very big deal for all of us, because 85 percent of the beer made in the United States is owned by foreign companies.”
“And now we have a level playing field, and we’re going to kick their ass,” Koch continued. “Thank you.”
Curtatone took umbrage with Koch’s reported praise, accusing the businessman of supporting a racist agenda.
“We need to hold these complicit profiteers of Trump’s white nationalist agenda accountable!” The Massachusetts mayor tweeted.

His ended his tweets by implying Koch cares more about money than the treatment of children.
“Hey Jim Koch! While you were thanking Trump for your tax break, did you happen to express any concern for the families separated under his cruel and inhumane immigration enforcement policy?” Curtatone tweeted.
