A reportedly pro-gay church in California — where else — plans to transform a building in downtown Santa Cruz into a part worship space and part public brewery, because nothing says godliness like a mug of beer, apparently.
According to church Pastor Chris VanHall of the Greater Purpose Community Church, the plan is to host Sunday meetings where parishioners will be able to pray, listen to him bloviate and drink beer.
“There’s nothing in the bible that says you can’t drink alcohol in a responsible manner,” he said to KNTV without even a trace of sarcasm in his voice.
Until his upcoming heathenish worship space is completed, his crew is hanging out at a nearby food lounge owned by Andrea Mollenauer.
“Why not serve beer when they’re reading bible verses? I thought it was genius,” she said.
And that’s probably why you voluntarily choose to live in California, a far-left state known for its poor quality of life and skyrocketing taxes.
Despite the questionableness of VanHall’s, he promised that he drinks responsibly and that his only goal is to set up a comfortable environment so “people cannot only listen to a progressive take on theology but can also engage in conversation.”
Notice what he said about a “progressive take on theology.” After reading that, it should not surprise you too much to learn that he plans to donate proceeds from his church’s future beer sales to Planned Parenthood, versus say a Christian charity like Samaritan’s Purse.
“I thought to myself, wouldn’t it be great if a church could figure out a way to make a product where they split the profits with local community service organizations,” he said. “We were like, ‘Hey, we love beer, we love making beer, why not do a brewery?'”
“A church that serves beer and gives the profits away to places like Planned Parenthood is really exciting to me,” he said.
He might as well just give all his money to the Democrat Party. This man is a pseudo pastor at best. If anything, he comes off as more of a Democrat Party stooge than anything else, given his enthusiastic willingness to violate every Christian rule, including those pertaining to abortion and homosexuality.
A lot of people on social media seem to feel similarly:
Blasphemy.

Surprise Surprise a pro gay church supports alcoholism and murder!!

There is no such thing as a pro gay church. This facility believes nothing and propagates untruth. Think they should pay taxes as a club.

Stop calling it a church. A church would never do this

Church might be the wrong adjective

I wonder what God they worship ?

That’s an easy one to answer, “MS.” They clearly worship the God of progressivism.
