Melania Trump’s parents officially become U.S. citizens, and all hell breaks loose

Thursday morning in New York City, first lady Melania Trump’s parents, Viktor and Amalija Knavs, took their citizenship oath and were subsequently sworn in as American citizens. Shortly thereafter, all hell broke loose on social media. Why? Because of liberals.

Liberals of all colors and stripes promptly rushed to social media Thursday afternoon to accuse Melania’s parents of cheating their way to citizenship. Their proof? Anonymous sources cited by The Washington Post, a left-wing outlet notorious for its lies.

“Immigration experts said Viktor and Amalija Knavs very likely relied on a family reunification process that President Trump has derided as ‘chain migration’ and proposed ending in such cases,” the Post “reported” months earlier.

It’s probably fair to assume these so-called “experts” were as knowledge vis-a-vis their area of interest as the “body-language experts” who last month falsely claimed White House chief of staff John Kelly’s facial expressions suggested he was upset with the president.

The ever-so-not-impressive Post later had to issue a correction:

Regarding the Knavs, their attorney, Michael Wildes, said in a statement to the media that their “application, the process, the interview was no different than anybody else’s.”

Listen:

But because liberals live in a fantasy world chockablock with paranoia delusions and conspiracy theories, they of course didn’t believe him.

Look:

This isn’t to say they’re necessarily wrong. Neither the Wildes nor the first lady’s spokesperson have been very forthcoming about when exactly the couple relocated to the United States, when exactly they obtained their Green Card, etc.

“They would appreciate their privacy, and we just thank everybody for their attention to this very important dialogue that we’re having on immigration. This is an example of it going right,” was all their attorney said.

The last eight words were likely the key. Given how close the Knavs happen to be to President Donald Trump, and given the president’s opposition to chain migration, why would Wildes say what he said unless he meant that the couple had earned their citizenship the hard and long way?

Just to play devil’s advocate, suppose the Knavs did acquire their citizenship via “chain migration.” The question then becomes this: If liberals are so upset over them benefiting from “chain migration,” then why do their Democrat legislators keep blocking Republicans from getting rid of “chain migration!?”
