Controversial ‘I’d rather be Russian than Democrat’ T-shirt from Trump rally gets beautiful explanation

Never has so little done so much to expose how unhinged Americans have become over their politics… after all, it just a T-shirt!

Two men out to have a little fun while attending a rally for President Donald Trump have unwittingly managed to shape political discourse in this nation because of the message on their T-shirts.

“I’d like a moment of silence for everyone who has sacrificed their lives for these guys to have the freedom to wish they were Russian,” tweeted Bridget Phetasy, who pens a column for Playboy Magazine.

It’s a safe bet the remark was liberal sarcasm, but Phetasy managed to accurately capture the state of our politics in a follow up tweet.

“We’ve lost our f*cking minds,” she offered.

For the record, the journalist who took the photograph,  Jeremy Pelzer, wants his due recognition:

The men in the photo were identified by Cleveland.com as James Alicie and Richard M. Birchfield, two friends from the city of Delaware.

They told the paper they attended the rally because they’ve never seen a president in person before.

“Asked about their shirts,” Pelzer wrote, “Alicie (left) said he didn’t understand why Trump is getting so much criticism about Russia when Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama weren’t similarly scrutinized.”

As for the reaction, folks on the left and right are way overthinking things!

Not that there weren’t a few who actually got what the intended message was and offered a beautiful explanation:
