Red Lobster stands firm after CAIR tries to bully restaurant employees to undergo ‘sensitivity training’

Two months ago the terror-enabling Council on American-Islamic Relations filed a complaint against a Red Lobster in Minnesota accusing employees of discriminating against a Muslim family, and demanding the entire dining chain impose leftist-styled “sensitivity’ training on its 58,000 employees.

Had the employees at the Rochester restaurant booted the family like one Virginia-based Red Hen restaurant would later do to White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders? Nope. Had the employees refused to serve the family because of its religion? It hardly seems that way.

The employees of the restaurant had taken too long to bring the family water, according to Fox News: “According to the complaint, the family reportedly asked for water multiple times while they were waiting to break their fast, but hadn’t received any after 30 minutes.”

Instead of dealing with the server’s clear-cut incompetence by perhaps complaining to the manager, the family chose to raise a fuss about alleged racism, accusing the restaurant’s employees of being bigoted against Muslims. That didn’t go too well.

“You people love to play the race card whenever you can,” the family’s server allegedly said.

When the family then threatened to complain to Red Lobster’s corporate department, the manager then allegedly said, “Go ahead,” boasting it was “your word against mine.”

Following the incident, the family contacted CAIR, which in turn demanded Red Lobster apologize to the family, implement new anti-harassment and anti-discrimination policies and force their employees to take so-called “sensitivity training” courses.

Red Lobster responded to the complaint at the time by issuing a vague statement in which it touted its commitment to treating everyone fairly.

“We welcome everyone in our restaurants for a great seafood dining experience. All our guests should be treated equally and given the respect they deserve. Since this is an open legal matter, I can’t share any additional information at this time,” the statement specifically said.

What’s odd — and potentially telling — is that nothing else has been heard from either Red Lobster or CAIR about this predicament since mid-June.

As noted by the Florida Family Association, “CAIR’s last and only website post regarding this issue was on June 13, 2018 which was its call to action against Red Lobster. If CAIR had succeeded with bullying of another American corporation the Muslim organization would certainly have run it up the flagpole for all to see like it does with every other issue.”

This suggests that Red Lobster chose to stand firm and not abide by CAIR’s outrageous demands. If this is indeed the case, it could very well be because of the FFA.

After CAIR announced its complaint in June, the association sent out an email blast it to its members asking them to contact Red Lobster and urge the restaurant to stand tall against what the AFA described as an attempt to force Shariah law on it.

“CAIR is demanding that Red Lobster force its employees to take sensitivity training so they can comply with the Sharia tenet that harshly forbids criticism of Islam,” the association wrote.

Two months have passed, and CAIR’s complaint has practically disappeared from sight. Why is that? The reason remains unclear, though the chances that Red Lobster simply refused to kowtow to the whims of terrorist sympathizers seem very high.
