Another Democratic candidate comes out against Pelosi

Democratic congressional candidate Liz Watson of Indiana announced that she does not support House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s bid to remain in a leadership position and will not vote for her if Watson gets elected to the House in November.

“I won’t vote for Nancy Pelosi because we need new leadership in Washington,” Watson told CBS-4 in Indianapolis during an interview. “I’ve been out across the district listening to folks and they know that Washington is broken. They know that it is a system that needs to change. We need new leadership.”

Watson continued, “I’m not going to vote for her because what I’m hearing from Hoosiers is they are ready for a new direction in Washington. They’re tired of the same old same old.”

Heading in to the midterm elections, more and more Democrats are expressing their discontent with Pelosi. More than two dozen Democratic hopefuls have come out against the California representative, according to The Hill.

Congressional candidate Clarke Tucker of Arkansas released a campaign ad in June saying “I’ve said from day one that I won’t vote for Nancy Pelosi.”

North Carolina congressional candidate Dan McCready also expressed similar feelings saying “I’ve said since day one that I wouldn’t vote for Nancy Pelosi as speaker. I think we need a whole new generation of people.”

Other Democratic candidates such as California’s Gil Cisneros, Kansas’ Paul Davis, New York’s Anthony Brindisi, Illinois’ Brendan Kelly and Ohio’s Danny O’Connor have also indicated their unhappiness with Pelosi  by simply stating that new leadership is needed.
