What began with the toppling of historical statues and the renaming of historical buildings has transformed into a full-fledged movement to erase and/or rewrite all of American history to make up for the country’s mistakes of the very distant past.
Leading this movement is of course the Democrat Party, which cheered in glee when leftist thugs toppled a Confederate statue in North Carolina last year:
This insanity has since spread to the Democrat stronghold of Austin, Texas, where officials are considering renaming the entire city because its namesake, a late 18th century and early 19th century settler named Stephen F. Austin, supported slavery.
“Known as both the ‘father of Texas’ and the namesake of the state’s capital, Stephen F. Austin … opposed an attempt by Mexico to ban slavery in the province of Tejas and said if slaves were freed, they would turn into ‘vagabonds, a nuisance and a menace,'” the Austin American-Statesman reported.
Because a man who was born three centuries ago supported slavery at a time when the notion of “equal rights” didn’t even exist — Austin died 25 years before the start of the Civil War — the city’s Democrat leaders now argue the whole city should be renamed. But not just the city. They believe dozens of streets and parks ought to be renamed as well because of their own namesakes’ links to slavery.
Two questions come to mind, one of them being what the city’s Democrat leaders should rename Austin. Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Fellow at the David Horowitz Freedom Center, suggested they consider renaming it to “Marxville,” “new Mao City” or “Obamastan.”
“I guess we’re going to have to rename America,” he wrote for FrontPage Magazine. “Or offer the left a one way ticket to a country where everything is named only after leftists. There are so many options. Cuba. North Korea. The circles of hell.”
The denizens of social media had their own fun with this name-change proposal as well:

The second and far more pertinent question is this: When will the Democrat Party change its name? It is, after all, the party ultimately responsible for slavery, the Ku Klux Klan and Jim Crow.
And no, despite claims to the contrary from lying leftists, there was never some grand switch where all racist Democrats became racist Republicans, and vice versa.
“The big switch is a big lie. The Democrats didn’t switch from being the bad guys to the good guys. They simply found a new and bigger scam,” conservative researcher Dinesh D’Souza explained in his 2016 documentary, “Hillary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party.”

“[T]he poorest, most racist whites never switched. The ones that did switch were the nonracists,
who were attracted to the Republican Party’s message of opportunity, prosperity, and upward mobility,” D’Souza rightly pointed out in the clip.
The Democrat Party is, has always been and will likely always be the true party of racism. Given this, it’d be nice if for once the party would stop pestering everybody else and instead turn its spotlight inwards and take a close, hard look at its own ongoing “history” of racism.
