Marine veteran and double amputee Johnny Joey Jones ripped comedian Sacha Baron Cohen on “Fox & Friends” Friday for disguising himself as a military veteran to dupe former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
“How degrading can you be to the men and women that served this country?” Jones said.
Jones said he had an easy recovery after losing his legs, but stressed how difficult it is for other veterans to deal with the day-to-day challenges they face. He said Cohen’s mockery of the uniform was an affront to the entire military.
“Something like what Sacha Baron Cohen is doing … to make a mockery of the pain that these men and women endure after they serve our country or the honor they have after serving our country is absolutely, it’s asinine,” Jones continued.
Jones said America is an amazing country, but certain citizens remain ungrateful or oblivious to the sacrifices others have made to keep the nation free and safe.
“I know how lucky I have it. People didn’t spit on me or call me a baby killer. We live in an amazing country,” he concluded. “But I think a certain part of this country really has no idea what it takes to keep it this way.”
