Gowdy eviscerates defiant Peter Strzok over ‘textbook bias,’ leaves him with stinging words to chew on

FBI agent Peter Strzok went before Congress Thursday and defiantly defended what House Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy characterized as “textbook bias,” as seen in the tweets he exchanged with his illicit bureau lover, Lisa Page.

Strzok went on the offensive to defend not only his honor, but that of the bureau he besmirched, his appearance fiery from the start, as seen in Gowdy’s final response: “I don’t give a damn what you appreciate, Agent Strzok, I don’t appreciate having a FBI agent with an unprecedented level of animus working on two major investigations during 2016.”

In Gowdy’s opening statement, he spoke of the “incredible powers” law enforcement officers can have when engaged in an investigation before stating that Strzok “has a most unusual and largely self-serving definition of bias.”

The South Carolina Republican proceeded to eviscerate Strzok with the agents own words and actions.

“He thinks calling someone destabilizing for the country isn’t bias,” Gowdy stated. “He thinks promising to protect the country from someone he hasn’t even begun to investigate isn’t bias. He thinks promising to stop someone he is supposed to be fairly investigating from ever becoming president isn’t bias. He thinks talking about an insurance policy to keep someone from becoming president isn’t bias.”

The references to President Donald Trump impossible to miss. But Gowdy was only getting started, as he then spoke of Strzok’s expressed affinity for Hillary Clinton.

“That’s for one of the folks he was investigating,” Gowdy said. “He has a different set of rules for others that he is investigating. Agent Strzok thinks saying someone he is allegedly investigating should be elected president 100 million to 0, before he ever interviews her. He doesn’t think that’s bias. Agent Strzok thinks pronouncing someone innocent before bothering to interview more than 30 different witnesses isn’t bias.”

“Agent Strzok had Hillary Clinton winning the White House before he finished investigating her,” Gowdy concluded. “Agent Strzok had Donald Trump impeached before he started investigating him.”

“That’s bias,” he explained. “Agent Strzok may not see it but the rest of the country does and it is not what we want, expect or deserve from any law enforcement officer, much less the F.B.I. A fair, bias-free investigation is not a Republican or Democrat issue. It is an American issue. Or at least it used to be.”

Joe Pagliarulo took to Twitter to offer his own take on Gowdy’s questioning of Strzok and the FBI agents “fake outrage” in defending his actions.

“‘Peter Strzok’ was only kidding with his texts. Wasn’t serious at all,” Pags tweeted. “He thinks we’ll believe that. His fake outrage was absolutely nothing compared to Trey Gowdy’s direct, scorching questioning. This guy is a fool and is being exposed as a biased SOB,” Pags tweeted.

Strzok was eventually able to provide a retort to Gowdy, and acted angry and appalled at the notion that he would be perceived as biased.

The left cheered Strzok’s performance with no regard for Gowdy’s ability to show Strzok’s flagrant bias. Former FBI agent Dan Bongino issued the following warning:
