The Democratic National Committee (DNC) included a picture of the wrong judge in an attack on President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Judge Brett Kavanaugh of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.
The DNC on Tuesday initially paired a blog post attacking Judge Kavanaugh with a picture of Judge Thomas Hardiman, who sits on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Hardiman was reportedly Trump’s second choice after Kavanaugh.
DNC chair Tom Perez initially fell for the wrong picture as well.
“‘Fill in the blank’ opposition keeps getting people in trouble,” Republican Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch’s office pointed out in a tweet. “That’s not even Judge Kavanaugh.”
Both the DNC and the DNC chair deleted their tweets after being mocked for the error on social media.
By press time, the blog post’s Hardiman photo had been replaced by one of Kavanaugh.
