Leave it to perpetually aggrieved liberals to take a beautiful video of a police officer rolling up an American flag and turn it into something dirty. And not just any perpetually aggrieved liberals but perpetually aggrieved white liberals in particular.
Shared on Twitter by Fox News this Saturday, the video showed a Washington state police officer walking up a Marysville homeowner’s driveway, picking up a knocked-over American flag, neatly rolling it up and then placing it on the homeowner’s porch.
Who could possibly find something to complain about something so nice, right?

While the video accrued nearly 20,000 likes and 5,000 retweets within 24 hours, it also attracted the attention of perpetually aggrieved white liberals whose entire lives revolve around the endless promotion of grievance and victimhood.
Liberals like Erik Sherman, who responded to the video by tweeting, “When cops have more respect for pieces of fabric than they do people of color. #ThisIsAmerica.”

Never mind the fact that many cops happen to be “people of color.” Or the fact that the left’s “all cops are racist” narrative is complete hogwash.
And then there’s millennial liberal Connor Peters, who argued, “If it was a black guy this story would be a lot different… just saying.”

Guys like Sherman and Peters suffer from the soft bigotry of low expectations. This pernicious form of bigotry centers around treating black people like eternal victims who must be coddled and protected by upstanding whites like Sherman and Peters.
The tactic they employed over the weekend was to indict all cops for the poor actions of a few — a very select few, in fact. The majority of cases cited by liberals as examples of “racist cops” allegedly mistreating or killing black suspects involved the suspects acting in ways that precipitated a tough response.
In the case of deceased Ferguson thug Mike Brown, whose death in 2014 at the hands of a Missouri cop sparked the whole anti-cop movement, he precipitated his own demise by attacking the officer who tried to apprehend him. We know this for a fact because former President Barack Obama’s Justice Department confirmed it in a report published the next year.
But facts like these haven’t stopped white liberals like Sherman and Peters, among many others, from persisting with the disproved lied that there’s an epidemic of racist cops killing blacks.
It’s tragically sad though, that they’d stoop so low as to use a wonderful video of a cop rolling up an American flag to attack America’s men and women in uniform.
But while it’s tempting to feel anger and frustration over the ignorance of people like them, a more appropriate feeling would be that of pity. Because there’s nothing more pitiful in life than people so full of hate and venom that they can’t even enjoy a nice video.
