It would appear that the more time conservative political analyst Bill Kristol spends on CNN and MSNBC advising Democrats on how to defeat President Donald Trump, the more he mimics their tactics — such as conflating legal and illegal immigration.
But leave it to former CBS News investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson to call him out for the deception.
Kristol posted an ad sponsored by a ‘conservative’ group that takes a not-so-subtle dig at the president over his staunch stance against illegal immigration.
“This ad will air tomorrow morning, July 4th, on selected stations including Fox News, to remind our fellow Americans, Republicans and conservatives that we are a nation of immigrants, and stronger for it,” he tweeted.

The ad is from the conservative group Becoming American Initiative, and uses Reagan to attack President Donald Trump’s “zero tolerance” for illegal immigration.
The group’s director, Linda Chavez, served in the Reagan administration, but doesn’t appear to adhere to the former president’s rule of not attacking fellow Republicans.
Nonetheless, when Reagan spoke of immigrants, he was speaking about those who came to America legally, through the front door — a point Attkisson aptly reminded Kristol of as he declared that “we are a nation of immigrants.”

The encouraging thing is, despite all the ginned up hysteria by the media, is that outside of the Democrat Party, which now openly advocates for illegal immigrants over American citizens, people seem to get it when it come to Trump’s endeavors to finally fix the problem.
At least, the reaction from social media users suggests as much, even if they are less than kind to Kristol, whose hatred for Trump appears to cloud his judgement, as one social media user noted.
Here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter:
He knows that… he’s being deliberately misleading. He’s a jackass.

My Grandmother sailed past Ellis Island in 1913. She came with immigration papers. At no time did she try to scramble up the Statue of Liberty for a photo op. It’s an insult to those who came in legally.

Don’t give Kristol a platform. He’s not relevant

Kristol’s hatred for @realDonaldTrump has been tiresome from the beginning. Hatred on that level clouds judgement. Trump has been doing most things right and the only problem in Kristol’s view is that he is Trump.

how the heck does @BillKristol expect to remain a creditable journalistic voice when he is echoing these misleading political slogans? What is happening to journalism?? https://t.co/ZPVroKpXLt

I used to think @BillKristol was at least intellectually honest. https://t.co/fAzQ7vx6Qc

The divide is between legal immigrants and secure borders… or… illegal immigrants and porous borders… https://t.co/vbgFGSRwey
