Border official annihilates ‘idiot’ media critics for ‘whole new low,’ sets record straight on migrant situation

A Border Patrol agent slammed media coverage of President Trump and the controversial policy of separating illegal immigrant parents from their children at the border.

Art Del Cueto, president of the U.S. Border Patrol Council chapter in Tucson, Arizona, delivered a scathing rebuke of the liberal media and the “disgusting” portrayal of agents as Nazis, among other attacks, during an appearance on Fox News Channel’s “The Ingraham Angle” Thursday.

“It is sickening that certain members of the media have chosen to attack our president. It is sickening that certain members of the media have chosen to attack border patrol agents, and describe us as Nazis,” Del Cueto told host Laura Ingraham. “That is disgusting that you would even think that. I don’t know where that even comes from.”

He asserted that agents are far from the monsters portrayed by the media, which is bent on attacking Trump for the controversial policy that pre-dates his presidency and which he rescinded in an executive order this week.

Del Cueto noted that he and other officers often use their own money buying food, toys and clothes in an effort to help unaccompanied migrant children they encounter. He told Ingraham about a recent incident where a man tossed a child over a border fence with only a handwritten note asking for help to find his mother.

“To compare us to Nazis, that is just a whole new low,” Del Cueto said. “That is just the most disgusting thing. These people are idiots for that comparison, or they need to go back to school and actually learn history. They probably fell asleep during history class is what I think.”

Another guest on the panel, Matt Schlapp, president of the American Conservative Union, slammed the left for their hypocrisy following a 2014 video clip in which House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi praised the Border Patrol after her visit to a temporary shelter. This was a far cry from the current description of facilities as “internment camps.”

“All President Trump was doing was following the law,” Schlapp said. “This is very important for people to understand. He was following the law that President Obama had to follow, that the courts had established with the executive branch since the 1990s.”

Del Cueto noted the irony in the media’s defamation of Border Patrol agents while they sympathize with illegal immigrant parents who risk their children’s lives.

“They’re such great parents that they’re giving their child to criminal organizations so they can put them in a trunk of a vehicle, and cross through the desert or travel through very dangerous areas,” he said.

He slammed the media again for letting their “hatred towards one president” that blinds them to the truth.

“The picture that you’re seeing from a lot of these media outlets are from the last administration,” he said. “You can spin it any way you want, but the reality is, I’m out there all the time, I work that border. And I’m telling you right now, things are being done correctly and there’s a lot of people out there in the media that are twisting things around.”
