‘Morning Joe’ gets agonizingly awkward when Mika refuses to hold Scarborough’s hand: ‘Don’t do that!’

MSNBC “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski admitted to some recent “fighting” with co-host and fiancé Joe Scarborough, before scolding him for trying to hold her hand on air.

“We did lots of fighting over issues, so it should be a good show today,” Brzezinski said.

As the lovebirds quarreled over whether that was true, Scarborough tried to hold Brzezinski’s hand, only to be rebuffed.

“Don’t do that. Not on the air,” she scolded her beau. “We’re on the air. What are you doing?”

Scarborough then turned to ask Willie Geist if he should be allowed to hold Mika’s hand.

“We’ve been engaged for like 13 years,” the Morning Joe co-host said. “You think I should be able to hold her hand at this point in the engagement?”

And while Scarborough may have been exaggerating somewhat about the length of their engagement, the problem is that it has only been two years since Brzezinski and her husband of 23 years, James Hoffer, divorced.

In fact, it’s only been 5 years since Scarborough divorced his wife.

All of which brings to mind the great 70’s tune, “How Long Has This Been Going On?”

Brzezinsk did relent, on one condition: “If you be quiet, I’ll hold your hand … so I can do the news.”
