The media-induced firestorm over illegal immigrant children being separated from their parents has drawn attention to the plight of these children, who are sometimes being trafficked or enter the US with adults who claim they are the parent but can’t prove it.
But a solution to this problem is reportedly being explored by Attorney General Jeff Sessions — use DNA tests to verify parentage.
That’s according to Tony Perkins, the president of the Family Research Council, who interviewed Sessions on Tuesday on his radio show.
Both of the immigration bills underway in Congress have a “fix to the separation of families.”

“Sessions is talking to congressional members and is hoping for a legislative fix,” Perkins said. “The AG wants an immigration policy that is just, fair and enforceable. They talked about making sure that these really are the parents of these kids.”
Of course, we can expect extreme opposition for obstructionist Democrats, but this would go a long way toward identifying whether the children crossing the southern border are victims or not.
“They are looking at how to use DNA tests in the field to verify they are parents and not traffickers,” Perkins continued.
With Democrats claiming President Donald “zero tolerance” immigration policy is child abuse because children are being separated after their parents are arrested for illegally crossing the border, Perkins noted the real child abuse may be what these children are put through as they trek across Central America, exposed to drug cartel members, coyotes and God only knows what else.
“The reality is,” Perkins said, “if American parents put their kids through what these immigrant parents have done to their kids — they would be charged with child abuse.”
With CNN propagating the claim that these children are being “ripped” from their parents, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agent Chris Cabrera stressed that migrant children put through “terrible situations by their parents.”
He said young girls are put on birth control by parents because their parents expect them to be raped.
“When you see a 12-year-old girl with a Plan B pill or her parents put her on birth control because they know getting violated is part of the journey, that’s a terrible way to live,” Cabrera said.
The spokesperson for the National Border Patrol Council detailed other things agents encounter, such as “a four-year-old girl traveling alone with just her parents’ phone number written across her shirt,” or a 9-year-old boy who died of heat stroke “with no family around and that’s because we’re allowing people to take advantage of this system.”
In the end, as liberal activists disguised as journalists gin up anti-Trump sentiments over the plight of these children in the run-up to the 2018 midterm election, making themselves arbiters of morality, immigration is an absolute mess in America. In large part, because Democrats continue to manipulate the process for political gain.
A campaign that allows for real child abuse.
