Female film stars blame bad ‘Ocean’s 8’ reviews on those ignorant white male critics

According to Hollywood actress and comedian Mindy Kaling, who recently co-starred in the feminist-friendly film “Ocean’s 8,” the reason the film happens to be receiving poor ratings is because of white males. It’s always because of white males, didn’t you know!?

Speaking to the media last week, Kaling specifically blamed the film’s poor ratings on the preponderance of white male movie critics in the film industry.

“Meryl was talking about this, she had a great point of view about it,” she explained, citing feminist actress and anti-Trump zealot Meryl Streep. “She made movies for women but they are reviewed by men who don’t necessarily value it or don’t look at it in the same point of view as a woman doing it, but it seems just unfair.”

“Although if I had to base my career on what white men wanted I would be very unsuccessful, so there is obviously an audience out there who want to watch things like [Ocean’s 8],” Kaling added.

That audience already watched the movie and decided overwhelming that they disliked it. According to Rotten Tomatoes, only a 49 percent majority of its regular users liked the film.

But whereas the film received a 62 percent rating from the site’s everyday users (who include men, women, minorities, etc.), it received a higher 68 percent rating from the site’s professional critics, i.e., those pesky white males Kaling seems to rather dislike.

Odd, right? Not really.

Kaling essentially believes that only women should be reviewing “Ocean’s 8” because it contains an all-female cast. This belief is based on the equally inane theory that only people who look a certain way may accurately judge another person’s actions, behavior, performance, work, etc.

In other words, only white males should judge white males, only women should judge women and only blacks should judge blacks.

Sandra Bullock, another “Ocean’s 8” co-star, even believes that only children should review children’s films.

“I also think children should review children’s films. As a mother, my children give the best reviews! Let kids review the films that are for them don’t have the one from Harvard go review a children’s film they’re not going to get it,” she said to the media.

*facepalm*

This is the ignorance of identity politics at its worst. An invention of the Democrat Party, identity politics seeks to reverse the progress ushered in by civil rights hero Martin Luther King Jr. by returning America to a state wherein how ones looks matter versus one’s individual talent, experience, character, you name it.

Recall that it was King who once declared, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”

But thanks to the ignorance of leftists like Mindy Kaling, Sandra Bullock and many others like them who see inequality and unfairness in meritocracy itself, even King’s wisdom would likely now be discarded. He was a pesky man, after all.
